Honestly I don't care one way or the other about Pachter but the rage he incites on the forums is crazy, I usually just ask the people that hate him so much to just stop talking about him, if he's saying something so wrong not giving him hits is the best thing you can do lol but thats common sense he wouldn't be employed if he couldn't get traffic.

I like Pachter too

I think there was a small-scale research of a sort a couple of years back. It was about predictions and how well they came true. Well guess what? Pachter got the most right.

(Either that, or he was close to the top at least.)

That said, I don't like the man too much. It isn't necessarily because it's wrong, it's just that I think I don't like him.

And if you see the Bonus Round, he's a pretty cool guy in general.

Not to mention he PWND us all with his insanely high MW2 prediction (which came true) a year ago.

I agree with you regarding Pachter. I think he's got quite a personality to him and his involvement on the Bonus Round and Pach Attack are probably the best things coming from GameTrailers in the last year or so. A lot of people tend to hate his predictions but few realize that he's coming from the financial side of the gaming industry, not "what pleases gamers". I find it great that he's sharing the view of the other side of the gaming industry. When both parties understand each other better I believe we'll all gain from it.

I think a lot of the hate he garners comes from his predictions on new pricing models and a lot of gamers feel like he's giving ideas to companies to gouge gamers for more money. Many fail to see that he's not coming up with these ideas and he's actually hinting at what companies are experimenting with behind the scenes as he does have the inside tip on these sorts of things.

He's okay - just not as on the ball as I'd like.  But he is trying to analyse a relatively new industry that by it's nature is hard to quantify so I try and cut him breaks on that basis.

i like him to but his patch-attack episodes are pretty boring.. most of the questions that was ask in that show is dumb and has been answered a thousand times before that

and yes the bonus round is shit without him, except when they make an episode about Nintendo the WiiHD is always talked about 98% of the time which is very VERY annoying especially at E3 when they could of used that time talking about Retro
