Comparing Switch 1 first holiday to Switch 2 is a bit tricky because 2017 was a 53 week year for Famitsu, and this year is a 52 week year. So Week 50 for example this year shares 3 days with Week 50 in 2017 and 4 days with Week 51 in 2017.

Probably the fairest way to compare is taking the average of the two weeks in 2017 that the 2025 week shares days with, so I've done that in the table below. Switch 2 is selling closely in-line with what the Switch 1 did in its first holiday in Japan so far.

*adjusted from a 53 week year for comparison sake.

At least Japan is holding strong while the console market in the United states collapses (for November anyway).

I’m really pleased with how well Kirby is holding. Here’s to hoping for 450k before the year’s end!

Edit— Also,Wii U has been surpassed in Japan.

Middle class American's are running out of money.

Nintendo is destroying the competition. Even PS5 is notably behind Switch this year in Japan. I shouldn't be shocked, since Switch is still in production.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Kirby Air Riders holding up so well over there. It would be funny if this would mean the game has over 50% of it's sales in Japan alone.

At this point, this is prolly the biggest spin-off seller of the series so far, aside from Epic Yarn.

Wouldn't be surprised if Switch beats PS4 next year too

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Strong week for the Switch 2. I saw a comment about how there's finally enough stock for it to be freely available in Japan which if true is good timing and it looks like it'll do similar to the Switch 1's first holiday in Japan whereas in the US it's doing worse but better in Europe. The Switch 1 had a big drop and is below the 3DS's 2017 week again though this week is way more like what I've been expecting with the Lite making up nearly half of sales since with the Switch 2 out it's the only Switch 1 model that still makes sense to buy due to how cheap it is.

Also for the PS5 on the one hand it's only a bit over 10% down YoY but on the other it'd probably be under 10k this week and over 50% down if not for the new Digital model so man that model has really saved this holiday season from being a complete and utter disaster for Sony.
