Damn that seems quite low for Tekken. Is it not big in Japan or something?

300k physical now very much doable.

great week for the ps5, the ps5 should sell more than 2 million this year again in Japan. If it continues like this the ps5 could come close to the sales of the Nintendo wii in Japan

Fortunately for Tekken 8 it's doing very well overseas otherwise I'd be a bit worried

Are those sales good for Like a Dragon?

I feel bad for Tekken. This game is just amazing. I find it to be one if not the best Tekken ever and I loved T2, T3, T5, and T-tag2. The game has a lot of characters, and a lot of mods, and the new AI stuff is great. Contrary to T7 the solo content is way bigger.

So basically you can feel that they put a lot of time into developing this game. I hope it is a commercial success outside because it deserves to sell well and when I think that the biggest flop of the franchise is TT2 I would hate that another great Tekken just flops. What kind of message would it send. I know T7 was a commercial success, but I don't think it was a great game.

Yes Like a Dragon 7 did - 159.8k FW  (156.9k on PS4 and 2.9k on PS5), So 180k for PS5+PS4 is a good result. It is the best physical FW sales for the series in Japan since Yakuza 6. So it beat Kiwami, Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 7. And of course you would expect digital ratio to be higher in 2024 than when those previous games released.

The lastest Yakuza launching to a successful start. One of the biggest of it's franchise.
Tekken 8 exists .... While a Mystery Dungeon game did actually much better than anyone would've thought at first !
PS5 and Switch mighty close this week.

Things are starting to heat up again for a bit with the usual end of January-February software rush.
