Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I'm displeased with Nintendo's pricing of MotionPlus

I think this is a brilliant strategy. Set it at $20. Then set it at $10 when bundled with games.

Meaning most likely a lot of pepople will get the game just to save $10 on the addon. Which will equal more sales.

Of course you aren't happy with the pricing. No matter what Nintendo does these days, us "hardcores" will never be happy hahaha!!

Just kiss the tip.

Now to fully enjoy the Wii, you need to spend $250 on the console, plus $320 on the controllers (remote + nunchuck + WM+), and that's not counting Wii Speak and other add-ons!

So the Wii is really a $570 console, and that's before taxes!

Lets not forget that you also need the Balance Board, and every single First Party game on the Wii to truly appreciate it. I'm afraid to tally up the final number.

Oh and factor in the cost of at least one Sonic game, one FPS, and Okami in order to truly enjoy the Wii.

Yup, the Wii is definitely the most expensive console now!

Nintendo invented the "rumble pack" for N64. They almost released (and I'm not sure but I think they did release it in Japan) a Disc Drive for the N64... They've also led the console industry in peripherals with the NES : power pad, power glove, zapper, robot, etc... SNES bazooka remember that one? Now it's Wii fit board, motion plus, etc.

Mattel made the power glove not Nintendo.

Nintendo published and adverised it though, just like Invensense (I think that's it) makes the Motion+

@Whoever says that it should have been included at launch: They wanted to. The price of the gyros is only now coming down to a consumer-friendly level. You complaining about an "$80 controller" now? It probably would've been $120 at the launch of the Wii.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Are you kidding? Regardless of reason, $80 is too much.

You don't have to buy it, though. You're saying there's no way to justify an $80 controller? Regardless of the technology used inside of it? That doesn't make any sense.

I expected $30. It's 33% cheaper than what I thought.

And apparently it's worth it since so many people buy all of this(I'm one of them so are my friends)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

I think it would be possible at this point to integrate WM+ with the wiimote and still earn a profit at the $40 MSRP, but as somebody with a full fleet of controllers, I'd much rather ease into WM+ ten or twenty dollars at a time than throw away my $40 wiimotes because they're obsolete.
