Yeah he looks nothing like Geralt. There goes my epectation for the movie.

Yeah, they badly need to give him some scars before filming. Geralt has been hunting dangerous monsters for decades before the start of this series, they honestly think it is believable for him to a have a flawless pretty boy face like that? He looks more like an Elf from LOTR or Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter than Geralt right now.

It's not just his face, the wig itself isn't that great either. Obviously, he's going to need some scars, the Witcher eyes, and I'd personally prefer they let him grow his beard out a bit as well. He looked quite good with it during the early parts of Man of Steel. Getting back to the wig though, it's too clean. Especially around the top. We're talking about a monster hunter here. Geralt spends most of his time in the wild, tracking various beasts, through all kinds of environments…..and yet this wig has him looking like he wakes up every morning to a team of grooming experts. Dirty it up a bit. Pull some strands out of place , idk...but you gotta do something with it.

Eh... not a good choice. They just picked him because he's famous and will appeal to people that don't care about the games.

Off the top of my head... better choices would have been Jean Claude Van Damme, John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Mark Wahlberg, Dolph Lundgren or Michael B Jordan.

The series is going off the books not the games.

Netflix is only touching this IP from the popularity of the games.

Yeah and? Doesn't change they're more focused on the books for source material.

Uh huh, but who's gonna be most interested in this happening? Gamers. Netflix has been touching popular video game IPs to appeal to that audience.

However, its being casted to appeal to non-gamers. What am I saying here that's wrong?

DMC's anime draws little from the games despite being based on a game's series so again The Witcher is not going by the games, books lend themselves to be better source material than games for tv shows and movies, the books were there long before the games and they got the license from the author so obviously they'd use them just because the games are popular doesn't mean they'll override everything.

The teaser first look looks terrible. The hair and make-up areawful. No beard? What? No scars? What the hell? Really. Geralt isn't a pretty boy.

I enjoy his acting so I'm looking forward to this series.

I was thinking someone like Mickey Rourke.
