You had me at Joss Whedon.

And than lost me at DC movie. Arrgh if he gets to abadon the horrible style of shooting film I will be excited. However if the continue to film in dim horrible lighting void of life, I will pass. You can make solid film without taking color out of something.

I agree that the DC cinematic universe has been a colossal disappointment, but a lot of that dark, dour, self-serious filmmaking style comes from Zack Snyder. I'm confident Whedon will produce something with more levity, humor, and vivaciousness.

I give 2 shits about Batgirl but I trust Joss Whedon, he knows how to make things fun.

one to avoid then, unless the woman they pick as batgirl is super hot

lol Batgirl...

I'm hopeful for Whedon, but very anxious about Warner Brothers' meddling. Something is very wrong at that company.

Apart from Firefly and Serenity I cant honestly say that I liked anything he has been involved in, from Buffy to Dollhouse to Cabin in the woods.

I'm sure its in safer hands than Snyder or Ayer though.

Doesn't Marvel do that. I remember an entire Youtube video where a guy basically explained it. Hell he even added colour himslef and the marvel movies looked so much better. DC in general is better at animation and comic writing compared to Marvel right now. Even in Tv shows. All it needs is to conquer the movies and total domination. I think that Wonder Woman will have more colour. Watch it's trailer maybe you'll like it

Colour grading, timing, lighting etc are all seperate elements. A movie can be dark, but have brilliant colour grading, such as BVS, which is one of the more interesting looking comic book films in recent years.

The Marvel movies are the ones that look bland (outside of Iron Man, Thor and GOTY). Joss Whedon for some reason went for a very bland colour palette with ethe first Avengers movie. For some reason, the Captain america sequels followed suite espeecially Civil War.

As for Suicide Squad, that was a terrible looking movie period. Poor lit, Michael Bay esque colours. Just awful.

I am so glad they pulled Zack Synder from a lot of it, but it has yet to be seen if it will have an effect. I really hate the style he has done and it makes the movies so dull.

On the bright side DC Animated movies seem to be back at better quality with Justice League Dark after the horribleness that was Justice League War, Atlantis, and Killing Joke.

I do not like Whedon. His comic work was beyond poor, produced in my view the one of the worst single comics ever written. He uses cliches and one liners like he doesn't know how to write a full coherent script. Sadly a lot of people love him for some reason, so I'm sure many will like this news.

Hmm, pie.

Toy Story is a cinema classic, he wrote it
Titan AE and Atlantis were cool, he wrote them too
Avengers and Serenity were good, he wrote them and directed them
Dr Horrible Sing-Along Blog was hilarious, he directed it
Cabin in the Woods was brilliant, he wrote it
Firefly is an absolute classic, he create it, wrote it and directed it

Is not sad that people loves him, is completely normal.
