God of War & Kratos are the first things that come to mind. My absolute favourite gaming series and Sony's most iconic character ever.

@OP: the first thing that came into my mind was Uncharted. That series has been the flagship for Sony for a generation and the one that gets the most attention and awards. And it's emblematic of Sony's recent shift toward cinematic, experiential titles.

How is it disparaging? Is it not a fact that the face of Microsoft is Halo? That the face of Nintendo is Mario? There is no "face" of Playstation. Because the franchises are all treated equally (some sell more than others, obviously) instead of having multi-year pushes for only one franchise.

For many Halo and Super Mario are THE franchises on Xbox and Nintendo, respectively. But I'm sure for others Zelda or Pokemon is the face of Nintendo. I'm willing to bet a lot of Xbox fans enjoy Forza or Gears ahead of Halo. Those companies aren't one-trick ponies, after all.

In any event, if I jumped to the wrong conclusion, I apologize.

I didn't mean to imply that they were "one trick ponies". Obviously, games like Zelda or Gears are big games. But 9 times out of 10, when you say "what game do you think of when see an Xbox?", the answer is gonna be Halo.

There is no such consensus like that for Playstation. Hell, just look at this thread. There is no consistent answer
