It will easily do more then $734 domestically but it might not get to $ 1,650 internationally.

It's even sadder that the box office of the movie is more entertaining than the movie itself. |
Pardon me, I'm not trying to be rude as I am being totally honest here - I've never seen you praise something, is there anything you do like?

Plenty - they're just far and few between since the majority of movies/TV shows are just bad. This year I gave In The Heart of the Sea, The Martian and MI: Rogue Nation 7s. Admitedly, it wasn't a great year for blockbuster movies.
It's broken the record for biggest New Year's Day, was Avatar's, by almost 10m. International was a bit slow, but I guess it'll rebound a bit.

I'm surprised people went out on New Year's Day.

Holy shit.... Merchandising....

It's going to cross $734m domestically today...900m domestically is the absolute minimum at this point.
Also not surprised they're expecting $5bn from merchandising..I was shopping yesterday and was in the Disney store, Primark, GAME, H&M and Poundland and ALL of them had large proportions of the store decorated to Star Wars merch. Disney store was like 1/3 Star Wars (as you'd expect), GAME was like 1/3 as well which is insane and Primark was probably 1/20 (still massive)
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
