He was banned for a day... but it wasnt a day was it.  I was saying a one day ban should last at LEAST one full day.  if you are going to ban someone for a day with one hour to go in that day then you should use common sense and ban them for two days imo.   The ban then last 25 hours rather than 1 hour.

I do know where you're coming from and it's an issue which has come up in the past (indeed I told Mummel to re-ban someone as they were only banned for an hour), and if it could be fixed so it's just a set time period rather than resetting at 1PM, then great. But unfortunately that's the system we have at the moment and I don't see that changing anytime soon, as frustrating as it is.

Gooch was banned for around 10 hours; when he was online as well. I think that's enough for him to get the message, but perhaps it's something to be addressed more formally in the future.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Yeah one-day bans are basically a second warning, depending on your timezone and when the mod banned you. You could get hit right when you're shutting down your computer for the night, go to sleep, run some morning errands, then get back online to merely see the ban note in your inbox and not actually have to suffer through it.

Although in a lot of cases, a sterner slap on the wrist is about all a day-ban calls for anyway, so it usually works out.

can someone explain me the purporse of threads like " i sold x console and bought y one console" , to me its just to bait report.

Or the ones that go " i bought a x console " .. ok you bought a console , and so what?

I agree. While users can make a thread of some topic and have the right to express themselves, two of the threads I've seen have no purpose apart from "sold this, got this, add me here", and that can be done on the Xbox Empire thread where a lot of fans with the same console and the same tastes. I have some theories, but it wouldn't be responsible from me to just say baseless assumptions.

I think it depends entirely on the content of the OP.

Can we tone down the Xbox Aggression?

All these aggressive Xbox posts are becoming a bit much. We have our usual posters doing most of the work. Sony fans appear to be on the defensive which is understandable with all the mod infingements on posts like: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=192654&page=1#.

At the rate things are going, we are going to lose the remains of ourSony audience, and that would be a shame.
