Xenoblade Chronicles Remake Announced For New Nintendo 3DS

In this morning’s Nintendo 3DS Direct, Nintendo announced their latest model of the 3DS series with the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL, that has improved features including a more powerful CPU from its predecessor.

During the stream, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that a remake of Xenoblade Chronicles is currently in the works and will be released for the New Nintendo 3DS models.

The remake is something they’ve previously wanted to do for the Nintendo 3DS, but were not able to due to its lack of CPU power, but now that it’s getting a boost with the newer version, it has been made possible.

Satoru Iwata also mentioned that several other titles are in development exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS. These will not be playable on the old 3DS models.

I still haven't gotten round to play the Wii version of this yet. And quite frankly, I don't really want to play it on Wii. I was thinking of Dolphin'ing it.

Now I can play on 3DS! And I haven't bought a 3DS yet, so I'm not going to have to trade it in for a new model!

If that is exclusive to the new sku that is pretty shitty. I shouldn't have to buy the a third version of the same console to play a game

I am completely stunned by this! Releasing a new hardware revision and making a game which doesn't run on the old hardware mid-gen of this awesome selling device is completely out of touch for me. Seriously. Diversifying the whole userbase.

Highly doubt it is for the new model if it isn't the sequel to the 3ds then all games should be playable on all versions of the 3ds.

If this continues then we will soon find a lot of cheap 3ds on ebay.

Not to big of a deal imo, it cant run on old HW from the looks of it. Its like a nice reward for us looking to upgrade to the new 3DS... which needs to release WW

Wonder how powerful the new 3DS is, still looks like the game has underwent a downgrade but impressive none the less. The addition of the second analoge stick may point to Nintendo wanting to make this a mini wii/gamecube with lots of ports in the developement.

Is this really exclusive to the new 3DS revision? Shit, I won't buy the new 3DS just to play Xenoblade.. >_>
