Man, I'm sorry to hear that.

Interesting that you say the soundtrack was good.  If anything, I thought that would be one of the first things to go.

I remember back when I heard that Akira Yamaoka was leaving, I had a bad feeling that it was the beginning of the end.  His music and sound design were such a big part of the game's atmosphere, and I really wasn't sure how it would fare without him.  Anyway, I'm glad to hear that at least that aspect of the game is still good.

As far as the combat system goes, hasn't it always sucked in SH games?

I can't speak for the classic SH games since I haven't played them in a while, but I don't remember the combat  beinb as bad as in Downpour...

Really?  Good lord!  It must... really suck!  I mean, I love SH but I don't recall the combat ever being its highlight.  In fact, if anything, I thought the sucky combat actually added to the feeling of helplessness.  Similar to what I said about the classic RE games - to whatever extend you could, you would generally try to avoid combat.  Even more so in SH because you were typically playing an average guy who couldn't really fight, unlike RE where you were a trained soldier.

The thing with Downpour is that it's more action-oriented, so avoiding combat is not really that easy...

I'm planing to get a vita.

Even though I am a giant nintendo fan I always wanted to jump into a Sony console but it never felt gnawing at me like it would if I missed a Nintendo console. Although the Vita is a different story the console just seems fun and not cluttered (For some reason I hate the PS4's interface). Also since it isn't region locked I could play a genre I recently got into, Visual Novels, because of this awesome anime called The World God Only Knows. Plus I could play series I would normally never play like Persona and Little Big Planet. I do have some questions though if some could answer them.

1. PSnow is coming to the Vita correct? If so will it be a extremely gimped version?
2. How long is the battery life for the Oled and the Slim version?
3. Which would you recommend Oled or Slim?
You could also try talking me into instead buying a Ps4 or a Xbox One but I'm a man who is set in his ways so it most likely won't work.

Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.

1) Yes. PS Now will come to the Vita "in the Fall". I don't think it's gimped but I'm not positive.

2) Don't have one but according to Sony, the Oled gets 4 hours while the Slim gets 6 hours.

3) Dependes, do you want the nice screen or slightly longer battery life?

The PS4 is a great console with a ton of potential down the road. I'm not gonna try to convince you though as I don't care if you get one or not

I haven't played the Slim version, and I do love the screen on my OLE version, but the Slim has built-in memory.  I consider that to be an important upgrade.  It's also supposed to be a bit lighter, though I'd suggest buying some cheap grip extenders if you want to play at home.  They help a LOT during long play sessions, which you will have if you buy Persona 4 Golden.

I'm not sure how long the battery of the OLE version lasts but the Slim is supposed to be an hour longer.  I'm not going to sell mine but that extra hour sounds really nice.

Aaaaah!  So, they kind of went the RE route.  But they made it more action-oriented and didn't have the good sense to make the combat good?  Now, there's a winning strategy!  At least in survival-oriented games, the combat doesn't need to be that good.  WTF, Konami?

I think I'm beginning to understand why you said that Downpour sucked. :-/

The funny part is that the devs kept talking before its release about how it's not action-oriented by any means... Oh, Konami......

Sigh!  I miss good old fashioned survival horror.  Games where you actually feared running into enemies, and tried to avoid them.  I don't know.  What ever happened to doing what you're good at?  Is old-school survival horror just too niche a market?  Do developers think they need more action to pull in the mainstream audience?

I wouldn't be surprised but, honestly, I really wish that some of these companies would go back to doing what they used to do so well.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

*pouts* Things were so much better in my day!  Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

To be honest, some indie horror games are pretty scary and pretty good actually!

Here, here, here we go,
So they're finally here,
Performing for you,
If you know the words,
You can join in too,

Put your hands together, if you want to clap,
As we take you through, this monkey rap!

Huh!!
DK, Donkey Kong!!

He's the leader of the bunch, you know him well,
He's finally back to kick some tail,
His Coconut Gun can fire in spurts,
If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt!
He's bigger, faster, and stronger too,
He's the first member of the DK crew!

Huh!
DK, Donkey Kong!
DK, Donkey Kong is here!

This Kong's got style, so listen up dudes,
She can shrink in size, to suit her mood,
She's quick and nimble when she needs to be,
She can float through the air and climb up trees!
If you choose her, you'll not choose wrong,
With a skip and a hop, she's one cool Kong!

Huh!
DK, Donkey Kong!

He has no style, he has no grace,
This Kong has a funny face,
He can handstand when he needs to,
And stretch his arms out, just for you,
Inflate himself just like a balloon,
This crazy Kong just digs this tune!

Huh!
DK, Donkey Kong!
DK, Donkey Kong is here!

He's back again and about time too,
And this time he's in the mood,
He can fly real high with his jetpack on,
With his pistols out, he's one tough Kong!
He'll make you smile when he plays his tune,
But Kremlings beware 'cause he's after you!

Huh!
DK, Donkey Kong!
Huh!

Finally, he's here for you,
It's the last member of the DK crew!
This Kong's so strong, it isn't funny,
Can make a Kremling cry out for mummy,
Can pick up a boulder with relative ease,
Makes crushing rocks seem such a breeze,
He may move slow, he can't jump high,
But this Kong's one hell* of a guy! *Replaced with "heck" in later versions of the song.

Huh!

C'mon Cranky, take it to the fridge!

W-w-w-walnuts, peanuts. pineapple smells,
Grapes, melons, oranges and coconut shells!
Ahh yeah!!
Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells,
Grapes, melons, oranges and coconut shells!

Ahh yeah!!
