Forums - Gaming Discussion - 60 is definitely playable, but its not ideal

Clearly, We need to talk about Framerate

60 FPS was a last gen standard.

33 FPS is not very playable

Standards, what are yours?

Seriously? Blackbond?

I just saw the video and knew it was his.

I have no problem playing with either framerate. Some people act like you're eyes will bleed even though 30 fps is perfectly smooth to me. As long as a game doesn't go to 20 fps or lower I really can't even be bothered to care.

240 fps minimum.

120 fps is a slide show.

I've played games that are below 20, and supposedly up to 60.

20 fps is where it is playable, and isn't annoying low for me.

The frames standard is just going to keep increasing but our eyes will just keep getting worse lol

PS3 120FPS 4D graphics. Remember ?

Dips in the 20s don't really bother me either. GTAV for example had very frequent dips and was fine.

Games that run like Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Killzone (PS2), Mass Effect (360) and Two Worlds (360) is where I draw the line.

Never played Killzone on PS2 but the Shadow of the Colossus HD collection on PS3 didn't have any bad framerate that I can remember. Did they fix it in the HD collection?

The problem with today is people have such high standards that they deem anything lower than 60fps as garbage, same goes for people that care about 1080 resolution.

SotC ran fine on PS3, as would be expected for a PS2 port. The PS2 version on the otherhand ran like crap.
