I see people started panicking from the get go... hahaha

People expecting 100K from DKCTF had crazy expectations, there are 1.5 million Wii U's in Japan...

I expect LTD sales to be 1-2 million physical...

Its the lack of a significant HW boost thats most worrying.

Well Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is only 4 days out not one week, thus I assume if DKCTF was released on February 10th then it would have been over 50K. Remember how everyone was going doom and gloom about Super Mario 3D World and it only had like a day or two for its launch week...

Every single time this argument.

You hate valid arguments... It is opening week for this game, I guess to you one week is consisting of 4 days :P

Those DK sales are depressing.

How can a sequel to a game that sold over a million in Japan fail to give any sort of HW boost?

It was one of only 16 games to shift 1m+ last gen on home consoles.

altough the numbers are certainly low, just like 3d world, the hardware boost wasn't on week 1.

OMG! 20 Games 15 are from Nintendo Platform!!!

Excuse my ignorance, but what weekly numbers? I don't follow the COMG thread that closely, I thought those daily updated charts that thread gets are overall pre-orders at those stores.

Every day there's a new daily chart of pre-orders.  Every Sunday there's a new weekly chart of sales for the past week.

Normally in the daily chart 1 point = 1k FW sales (give or take) whereas in the weekly chart it's 1 point - 0.5k FW sales (give or take).

Zero said he was basing his PS4 predictions off the weekly sales, but I think there was some kind of misunderstanding because we don't have any weekly sales for PS4 yet; only pre-orders.

Oh I get, so you mean these posts, right?

So those are actual sales, ok. I guess I always ignored those posts because they aren't nice and colorful like the pre-order charts. :D

Well would you look at that. The Vita is stable or even slightly up. I'm proud of ya lil' console.

I can't say so much for the Wii U though. No HW boost on DK launch? With PS4 next week? Disappoint.

Rest is meh, but this is the calm before the storm next week. I wonder who'll be happy then.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I was totally expecting those DK sales. It will do a bit better in the west but not amazing.

I was using daily pre orders to get an idea of weekly sales points it would get this sunday. since normally the sunday numbers are at most twice the pre orders, that's what I used as a basis. it is very rare for a game to get more than triple the pre orders, like dk did for example.

DKC just isn't a game that excites people right now. A lot of people enjoy it, but few will buy the system for it. Not unlike NSMB, the situation is made worse by the game looking a lot like a recent predecessor. Nintendo should have followed the Wii model and released the 2D platformers later in Wii U's life. The launch needed new IP's, mature titles and 3D graphical stunners in a variety of genres. 2D games with a similar experience to previous titles are not going to make a lot of gamers migrate, no matter how good they are. Nintendo really dropped the ball on launch year software.

That said, they are dominating the Japanese market.

You said it, it's a sequel to a 1m+ series, people who are interested with the IP have already purchased the hardware at this point.

Pretty good week for Vita, I thought it would be obvious to fall under 15k this week. It continues to surprise me, wonder if it maybe up WoW on the PS4 week. Doubt it though. People will have no monies.

WiiU continues to worry me, maybe it got hurt by the upcoming PS4 launch.
