Oh man, no thread on GAF and here without the same tables all over again...Really guys, please *try* to post something new. Every thread here and there turns to a complete mess every time. Every.

? I did this table right now.

Oh I read it wrong But really these tables... We had less pixels with almost every game this gen on the same TVs... Did anyone complain? Btw what do the fps do their?!

If someone who is providing a leak is ever wrong, then they are not credible. That means that they don't know and are making guesses. If you are going to tell me that someone is right 30 of the 35 times (85%) that may sound good on its surface. But let's look at actual facts, most people who are considered credible are really always right. They leak things with documented proof - either a picture or copy of a memo or something. Even if you look at the 30 times he was supposedly right, there seems to be very ambiguous statements that could be right or wrong based on perspective. He could really be closer to 50-60% right. If that's the case, then I am just as informed as he is. I have a coin in my hand and I can flip it to get the answers.

Best answer is = Just wait and play the games.

What exactly is the difference ?

I showed you a counter example to your statement about diminishing returns and you give me "30fps is good enough." -_- (epic fail)

Do you even understand the 'diminishing returns' argument? It means, the jump from 480 to 720 is more important than from 720 to 1080 and that is more important than from 1080 to 4K. For framerate it means, trhe jump from 30 to 60 fps is more important than the one from 60 to 120 fps or from 120 to 240 fps.

How do you even start determining which jump is more important when 1080p@30fps is more demanding than 720p@60fps ? How!?

As I said, you didn't even understood the argument. Thanks for proving it.

Simple facts. 1080p is more demanding than 60fps. #Dealwithit

The jump to 1080p is bigger than the jump to 60fps according to the power required.

Like I said earlier just because you don't notice it doesn't mean people with 50+ inch screens won't.

So :

- Its a risk to buy xbox one day one : RROD 2.0 announced

- 720p-900p for Xbox One, even exclusive games, except FM5 ( while all PS4 exclusive games are nativ 1080p )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Neither PS4 nor Xbox One will have a native 1080p baseline.
We went through the same thing back in 2006 with the PS3; in the end, many developers will choose to sacrifice resolution for better effects, materials, textures, etc.
This is why many 360/PS3 games weren't even 720p native. In fact, many high profile games like COD, Crysis 2, Halo 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, and the PS3 versions of GTA4 and Bioshock weren't.
Many gamers won't even notice the difference between 720p and 1080p, much less 900p and 1080p. So devs will spend the power on things they will notice instead, or just not spend the extra time and money to optimize for 1080p.

These next gen consoles clearly have way more bandwidth and pixel output at their disposal compared to the PS360U so there is no excuse for why they can't have 1080p and that especially goes for the PS4.

I believe people forget the Sage called Carmack who pretty much predicted how this new gen will end up turning out.  Yes, developers and the new consoles can definitely do 1080P/60FPS.  The key as we see with release games is the importance on those 2 parameters compared to what the developer want to do within the game.

What I want to see is if upscaled does 900p really make that much of a difference in IQ.  When all is said and done, the fanboys can argue about what consoles can do what but if the IQ is not compromised enough to make a difference, not sure if the general public will care.

Forza 5 is 1080p 60fps and its a launch game so i think as time goes on devs will get more used to the hardware
