I'm surprised at how many people don't have Ponyo in their Top 3. I thought it was quite a great movie, it was very interesting to watch for sure.

I thought Ponyo was a great movie but to get in my top, it needs to have that emotional aspect tugging at you. Ponyo would probably be my number 5 right after Totoro.

I would really like to get one of those adorable Totoro plushies, but it always seems like my money goes towards something else. I must buy one of those plushies one day! *Writes down on Bucket List.*

Uh .. I know I said I wasn't much for anime goods but I have two Totoro plushies (big one and small one), a Catbus plushie (small one that purrs), and two Jiji plushies (medium sized and a small purring).  Also have two Totoro figurines; one with tiny Totoros peering out of an acorn, and one with Mei sleeping on Totoro's tummy.  They were all gifts!  I swear on Totoro's honor, they were all gifts.  I think.

Seriously, if people know you like something, they'll flood you with stuff for the rest of your life.

Wow, that's quite the collection! I wish my friends and family would buy me Totoro goodies.

Ah I love these guys they're my favorite movie studio. Really no one else comes close to them.

1. Sprited Away

2. Howl's Moving Castle

3. Castle in the Sky

My cousin that I used to see all the time had this Totoro sweatshirt that zipped up all the way showing that huge silly grin. Still trying to find it online...

Sounds somewhat creepy... I would get it!

1. Kiki's Delivery Service

It's a perfect film for all ages. Nothing too weird or overly melodramatic. Just a fun story with nice characters.

2. Castle in the Sky

It's an adventure movie with air pirates. Need I say more?

3. Princess Mononoke

It has one of the more interesting stories from the studio. It's a little on the dark side and it's far more violent than anything else from Studio Gibli. It would make a very good live action movie. Elk riding for the win!

Honorable Mentions:

Ponyo

Howel's Moving Castle

NausicaA of the Valley of the Wind

Porco Rosso

Related and Great:

The Castle of Cagliostro (Hayao Miyazaki but not Studio Gibli)

Grave of the Fireflies, IMO, destroys all the others, It should has won multiple Oscars. One of the few animated movies to actually touch me.

Oh, oh, that's pretty hard. Let's see.

 #1: Nausicaä

That is practically the essence of Miyazaki-movies. he has all three main themes he makes movies about in this one: War, Flying and the relationship between nature and humans. That said, other great movies have to step behind this: Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited away, Howls Moving castle, Laputa, Kikis delivery service. All of them are great, but Nausicaä for me is the best of them all.

#2: Grave of the Fireflies

Well, this movie gets everyone crying. I never saw one, who wasn't touched by it.

#3: Whisper of the heart

That is such a beautiful movie. (Concrete Roads)

Well, as said before, I can recommend all Miyazaki movies and basically all Ghibli movies. These three I have to choose, if I have to reduce to three.

Surprisingly, your top 3 are the 3 out of the 4 that I have not seen, Poppy Hill being the fourth @___@

Currently downloading Whisper, and I already have Grave but haven't watch it yet. Interested in Nausicaa though...
