I think $399.99 would be a fair price for such a system.

We're talking 4x better CPU, 4x the RAM (8GB), 4x the GPU (1.8 TFLOP from 450 GFLOPs or so), honestly you would have to go 4x in all categories, ie: 4GB of RAM would be fine if it was a higher speed RAM.

If it had that kind of power, and if it seriously competed with next gen Sony and Microsoft consoles, I would be willing to pay 500$. But it would have to include a hard drive too for that kind of price, maybe.

It would mean a lot to me as a prospective buyer. It would mean the Wii U would not just get relegated eventually to being a Mario and Zelda machine, but would be getting third party support on par with the other systems throughout the next gen. It would be a lot more attractive to me than it is now.

The same as what it is now.

Where are the "I'll base my judgement on the availability of appealing games" and "FOUR TIMES AS MUCH!" options?

You wouldn't pay $350 for a console that was 4 times as powerful as the Wii U? o.o

So I'm taking it you're going to be PC gaming for the forseeable future. :P

I dont like Nintendo franchises so, I would not buy it.

I like an honest answer.

on topic. For my 40gb launch PS3 model in Aus I paid $699, so if WiiU was much better I do not see why I could not do the same.

I woudl even go as far as $1000 if it was a huge leap in gfx, AI and physics.

However realisticlly we are stuck as this will never happen as general public only pay outragous prices for apple products.

It will be interesting to see how the new xbox rumored strategy plays out with the rumored two models, oOne for casuals and one for gamers and how far in power they will be.

Four times as many as I would pay for the Wii U as it currently exists. So, $0.

The absolute highest I would pay for a brand new console day one is $450. That is if the console is significantly more powerful (or mad innovative, although I'd be careful to not make the same mistake of rushing out for the Wii and having it be shelved for the rest of the gen) than the previous gen (PS2-->PS3) and it has at least 2 must have games at launch. The console should also hopefully have decent 3rd party and 1st party support.

Unfortunately the Wii U as it is does fulfill those criterion. It doesn't seem significantly more powerful, it isn't very innovative (tablet is not the same as motion control was) and it doesn't have any unique games on it that seem like must buys.

$600 is a good price,

It's the price of PS3 here, in Brazil.

Fanatismo não leva a nada, apenas a colecionar antipatias.

Collection: Telejogo Ford-Philco, Dactar, TV Game 2600, Master System (2x), Master System Portable, NES, Dynavision 3, Mega Drive 3 (2x - Tectoy and Show Do Milhao Edition), Genesis 3, Genesis Arcade Motion, MD Play, SNES (2x), Super Famicom, Neo Geo CD, 3DO, Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64 (2x), Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Game Cube, Xbox, Zeebo, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 (Kinect Bundle), Wii (2x - White and Red), Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS Lite, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Around 800 games. Preferred Generation: 16 bits.

I think if Nintendo actually made the Wii U four times as powerful, they would have charged significantly more, at least $499. They always try to make a profit on their machines if possible. With their mechanism for how they bring a machine to market, it would have been too costly and nobody would have bought it.

We ALL wanted it, now we ALL are finally going to get SHENMUE III !!! Let us REJOICE IN THE STREETS!!!
