So, people are getting dumber by pointing out Sony's recent lack of originality (which is accompanied by lower sales)?

What kind of alternative reality do you live in?

my god..I just said enough wasting space with this dumbness. =.=

If lack of originality = low sales WHY does eye-toy rip off kinect sell well or how about basically every FPS out there that plays and looks just like any other shooter we played before? come to think of it i dont see you speaking out about MS lack of originality or how about halo? another shooter really?what about Wii U? trying to go all HD like ps3/360? pshh....

again for the last time STOP posting garbage.

Underlined: That is not always true, but in Sony's case it is. Why buy the Move if you already own a Wii? Why buy Sony All-Stars if you already own Super Smash Brother Brawl?

The Kinect is not a copy of Eye Toy, it is a vast improvement.

As for your FPS-example, it is just like buying milk. You know you like it, but you will always have to buy new milk to keep it fresh.

Because "its just like buying milk. You know you like it, but you will always have to buy new milk to keep it fresh".

You basically answered your self good job.

kinect is a vast improvement yet it still copies an already existing eye toy....no matter how hard you spin it.

lastly you just said if its a improvement its not a "copy" yet you claim Sony all star is a "copy" when it already has some difference and improvements over the other game(Graphics for once is obviously gonna be better and there is no ring out like SSB and characters are gonna be different as well as levels).

Nice contradiction.

Underlined: So... the digital watch copied the original watch???

Rest:

^Imagine if all the in-game characters where replaced with Nintendo character. How would people not think that that's Super Smash Bros Brawl's successor?

Gilgamesh said:

LMAO seriously? Guess what Nintendo copied to! thats right Smash Bros is not as original as you think. The creators were "inspired" by the game The Outfoxies which is very similar and made 5 years before Smash Bros.

How about FPS today  no one complains they copied them?

You guys just need to stop complaining that Nintendo now has some competition with there game.

End thread.

Whats that little white box behind that girl that is working on PASBR? what game must be inside that little white box?

Seems to me like Sony just admitted defeat in the console war.

I expect 1,5 million lifetime sales.

So how does SONY announcing a EXCLUSIVE GAME that is similar to another game equate to SONY admitting defeat in console war?

I swear I don't know if its just me but seems like forums are getting more and more dumb by the days...

Because they are getting less original as time goes by. It all started with the analogue stick, a more recent example is the Move and this is the final nail in the coffin.

They haven't tried copying franchises before.

Edit: Also, what do you mean by "dumber these days"? Have you been lurking for years? Or was your old account permabanned for some reason?

do you really think any console would of released in the seventh gen without any analogue sticks? Sony, Sega and Microsoft all saw how useful of an input device the analogue stick was, so they included their own version in their controllers. It's taking what other company's do and putting your own twist on it, every company does it, and they do it because it works.

Move is similar in the contrl scheme to the Wiimote of course and I'm certain Sony wouldn't of released it without the Wii being as big of a success as it was, but again they saw that a lot of people wanted motion controls, so they catered to that audience. It was smart, if  people thought about buying a Wii just for those controls, they had another option now, I'm sure this helped stop some Wii sales for sure and provide a few PS3 sales too (improving PS3 marketshare by a tiny bit).

Lastly about copying franchises, I remember similar style threads (although not as popular) when LBP Karting was announced, people were shouting rip off just like they are here, and you know what, I honestly didn't care what other people thought, I was excited to hear that announcement and I'm excited to hear this one.

I own a Wii, Mario Kart and have played SSB (I didn't enjoy it to be fair) and you ask why would you buy a game this game if you own the Wii equivalent already? Simple. I want to see Sony characters, I want to see Sackboy vs Kratos, I want to see Sly vs Jak vs Ratchet and I want to see loads of Nolan North voiced characters fight it out on stage, this game was created for people like myself who wanted to see these battles, and the game will sell reasonably well because of it

Edite- added punctuation.

When you have to resort to characters like Fat Princess, it makes me wonder how aweful the final roster will be.

Bolded: Wut? Of course not. I would not expect a completely redesigned controller in the middle of a generation though.

Italics: Well, I'm not responsible for threads made by others. If you're exited about this one and enjoy the final product then that's good for you. If the final product reach poor sales though then that's bad for Sony.

Underlined: Let's hope you're right, for Sony's sake.

Well, sure, the game does have SOME similarities with Smash. Bros, as does it with most other fighting games. But it is doing some stuff which is new. So we can't criticise them for that...

Some similarities? its looks like the deveolper just copy and pasted the entire foundation of Super Smash Bros Brawl.

I don't care either way. For me, Smash Bros. isn't really all that fun. I played the Gamecube game for a weekend and the Wii game for a week, maybe. The draw was seeing these big icons fight against each other. This game could play exactly the same but seeing Kratos fight Parappa the Rappa just doesn't have the same feeling as seeing Mario fighting Donkey Kong. These guys just aren't icons.

My only hang-up is that it looks like it borrows too much from Smash Bros. The mechanics just aren't original (from what I've seen). It would be one thing if they did a mascot fighting game with mechanics like Power Stone or Outfoxies. This gameplay is just Smash Bros. with a coat of paint.

I think Sony are mean for announcing this new videogame.

Just so you guys know, I had to stop masturbating to my framed picture of Nintendo HQ to write this.

That could be the longest sentence I have ever read.

I'm not sure why anybody would make a thread about LBP Karting in this day and age.  By the time that game comes out, we will have had Konami Krazy Racers, Diddy Kong Racing, several Crash Team Racing titles, Chocobo Racing, Mega Man Battle and Chase, some Mickey Mouse Racing game, and even Mod Nation Racers!  It's a full fledged genre by now--hell, it was a full fledged genre almost 20 years ago!!

I hope the Sony game is good.  Hopefully it has its own twist on things, too.
