I've only played the 3DS a little but I was impressed by the 3D, especially in Ocarina of time and Im thinking of getting one when the next hardvare revision comes out. When is it perdicted to come out?

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
For me the 3DS is the best piece of hardware Nintendo has ever produced. I was immensely pleased on March 25th when I got it. The recent system update has only improved it further. The eShop has been icing on the cake (although there's still alot of room for improvement) and the software line-up has been awesome, if somewhat slow in quantity. I would say 10/10.

Nothing's been announced yet, but based on Nintendo's track record, early 2013. The new model probably WON'T include a second analog pad, on account of the fact that this would split the base, and no game has been announced that needs it anyway. The model would probably just feature better button placement, cosmetic changes, and a better battery life IMO.

I'd give it a B+. It had a rocky start, but it's now a must own system.
However, I'm waiting for the first redesign like I did with the DS Lite. I just know Nintendo will bring out an improved 3DS relatively soon and I can live without it until then. I want to see better battery life, a second circle pad (without the need for an attachment), and maybe a pack in game or two. I won't be able to resist that.
a 6/10 compared to the other consoles.... If you have an average of two games that you really want a month on the rest of the consoles while I already was happy if I could find one game a month on 3DS that interested me.....but that is not fair to compare so I gave it an 7/10 launchyears are never that great but could have been better especially third party I got only DOA dimensions :s
