If Kirby is to reach 1 million LT, the FW will surely be higher than 400k. Because I really don't think it's the kind of franchise that will have legs.

Super Mario Collection will be big, I thought that it was a limited quantity item, but it looks like it's a limited time offer, with no production limits. It will sell whatever people buy, or whatever Nintendo ships.

This could be the biggest year for the Wii in terms of million sellers in Japan.

2006: Wii Play and Wii Sports
2007: Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Fit and Mario Party 8
2008: Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Animal Crossing: City Folk
2009: Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros Wii and Monster Hunter Tri
2010: Wii Party, ????

Probable million sellers launched in 2010: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Super Mario Collection, Mario Sports Mix and Donkey Kong Country Returns (this one depends on if its launched this year or not). FlingSmash I'd say no, because I don't see it as avery appealing item to the Japanese, even if bundled with the Wii Mote Plus.
What do you guys think?

If all those games make it to 1 million, it would be the year with the most million sellers launched with 6 games in total, and double the best year from Nintendo's first party games because they have been releasing 3 million sellers per year since 2007 (2006 didn't have enough time).

It looks like Nintendo is on their own now in Japan, so they will be releasing most of their remaining big guns without caring for the third party turds.

Iwata did say he Nintendo will ship more copies because of the fan determination.  The last story, rythm heaven, DQX are the 3rd party titles that will sell really well but wont be coming out this year.

Rhythm Heaven and The Last Story are 1st party. I can see Rhythm Heaven with a slight chance of hitting 1 million, but I wouldn't count on it. The Last Story won't hit a million either. Zelda: SS won't either and neither will Fatal Frame 2 Remake.

So Nintendo hasn't got any huge games coming out in Japan next year so far. I can't see Pikmin 3 hitting 1 million either, but I can see Wii Relax doing it, unless it flops like Wii Music (Hypothetical case where both come out next year). Next year is really Nintendo's last push for the Wii, but as you can see this year will be the last big push for the console.

Inazuma Eleven Break and DQX next year are pretty huge.

First of all, those are not games from Nintendo themselves, and that was my point.
Secondly, Inazuma Eleven Strikers, not Break like you said, will not be even close to huge. The genre has been changed from RPG to Sports, bad move by Level 5.
Thirdly, DQX will not come out next year.

Just because it's a sport title now doesn't mean it won't sell well. PES sells well and it's a yearly sports series.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if DQX had been moved to the 3DS.

That would be a smart move by SE, but I don't think that'll happen.

@Boutros: I'd say Kirby games are all about legs in Japan. These are all the Kirby games that sold 1 million or really close to it there, for some reason the quote box has disappeared and game names won't appear, but you can check in the database.

This could be the biggest year for the Wii in terms of million sellers in Japan.

2006: Wii Play and Wii Sports
2007: Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Fit and Mario Party 8

Yet Sports games on the Wii don't sell as much in Japan. WE has barely crossed 100k once in Japan on the Wii. Plus WE was huge on the PS2, on current gen consoles, not anymore.

@trestres

Yeah I guess I'm wrong.

But since it will be the first Kirby game on the Wii, we can't really expect anything for sure at this point.

DAMN!! i didnt know inazuma was changed to a sports title!! That really is a bad move... wonder why the bad moves always end up on Wii??

No, the PSP has sold more than the Wii, and to be honest, I wonder if there are actually more active PS3 users at this point in Japan than active Wii users.

I have read some acticles that say that more than 50% of the Japanese Wii owners don't even touch there console anymore, and that was a year ago...

I would, considering the creator himself reconfirmed it was on the Wii and said it wouldn't be too far out. Besides, DQ always goes to the system with the highest sales, and after the DS that's the Wii. That's not changing.

I wonder how much KH Recoded is gonna sell since it only has 117 points and comes out this week. The game got a 36/40 in Famitsu.

And how many times was Final Fantasy XIII confirmed to be a PS3 exclusive? Same now with Versus (Which will likely change very soon). Square-Enix's word on something should be taken very, very lightly this generation.

If DQ always goes to the system with the highest sales, then the series would remain on DS for X. It wouldn't go to Wii after the series has reached new heights on the DS. And after the DS, we all know the 3DS is going to destroy the Wii so...

Really. 3DS would be the best place for it to go right now. Not the Wii. I think that's why we've seen nothing from the game since it was announced personally... I guess we will see.

Horii is not the same as Square Enix.

Besides, by the time the DQ X is out I doubt the 3DS would have sold more than the Wii. This is DQ, it'll sell well.

Dragon Quest VII released on PS1
Dragon Quest VIII released on PS2
Dragon Quest IX released on DS

3DS would also continue the trend.

Isn't Horii employed by SE? lol

Anyway, pointless debating it right now. I suppose we will find out soon enough if it really is still a Wii game.
