How hard was the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time?

It was supposed to be hard? 39 16.05%

I had a few problems, but got through fine 70 28.81%

It was hard, but I managed 75 30.86%

I had to use a guide for parts 35 14.40%

Couldn't do it without a... 15 6.17%

I never managed to beat i... 9 3.70%

Total:243

I didn't have any trouble with the water temple. Actually, I never even heard it was hard until now -.-

Here's the real question though, how many people here beat OoT doing a nice 3-heart challenge (never picking up any heart containers/pieces)? That was fun, if you haven't done it, and you really like OoT and a nice challenge, do it.

But you can't use fairies either, potions are fine (or not if you want even more of a challenge, I didn't use potions when I did the GC Master Quest 3 heart challenge), but faeries partially defeat the purpose.

Oh man, OoT is probably my favorite game of all time, must re-play it (adds to the very long list of games to play).

Oh, and don't grab the power-up towards the end of the game either that essentially doubles your life total.

I thought the water temple in OOT was pretty easy, but I got lost for quite awhile in the water temple of TP

It was the same thing for me.  I was practically running around for about 5 hours in the Water Temple in Twilight Princess just trying to figure out how to get those 'gears' to work.  While I found the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time to be pretty straightforward, as Princess Ruto shows you how to operate the mechanism to raise/lower water and most of the layout is based off 4 main hallways.

The stuff in the Water Temple in Twilight Princess though...much like the rest off the game...is much more convoluted and complex than it needs to be due to their sense of trying to make it 'expansive'.  Plus you're just dumped in there and never told what to do.  You have to figure it all out yourself.  Which is fine in past Zelda games.  But not when you have to basically do 3 different puzzles located in completely different areas of the temple to get one thing to trigger....

I don't remember being impressed with it's difficulty. Rather I remember being impressed with how devilishly it was designed.

The thing that I like about both Zelda and Metroid is that they are generally so well designed that when I am stuck I know I'm probably going to kick myself when I figure out what I've been doing wrong, and I usually do.

I had a few problems, but got through fine

^ This was my choice. Besides, Ocarina was the first Zelda i ever played.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

I actually thought Twilight Princess's Lakebed Temple was harder than the Water Temple. Which isn't saying much because I didn't find the Water Temple hard at all. I got stumped on one part for a short while but then figured it out. Have mostly breezed through it in all subsequent playthroughs.

I had more problems with the Water Temple than the Lakebed Temple.

TP was a sinch when it came to dungeons.

It was a bit tricky in parts. I used to get annoyed with the repetitive boots on, boots off.

After a few days walking all around i manage to complete it it without any guide (i never used a guide in any game that i beat) its all abolt you memory skills ...and how used you are to zelda like puzzles ...

Now playing> THE LAST STORY (Wii) Best RPG I EVER PLAYED. *-*

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

It had an above average difficulty for me.

I thought that it was brilliantly designed though.

Meh, overall the Zelda games are a little more on the easIER side. I'd hate to see people that complain about about the water temple, try even playing Demon's Souls, hehe.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
