I think its funny that Germany can try and eradicate and entire group of people from the planet a few decades ago, but can't stand to see some low def zombies get shot now. Makes no sense to me. What a bunch of idiots.

Actually the reason why it is how it is now is because of our past. Censorship is nearly none existing in nearly every western country, but (thanks to uncle sam) it is part of our basic law. It is very constricted but it is there so the books and writings of the "little austrian with the little beard" can be banned. Thats never changed unitl know, but I have hopes that it will in the future thanks to the EU.

That's a very dangerous statement my friend, I hope the mods don't take notice of your harsh words. Every country has a dark past and while Germany's holds more infamy than most the emergence of the Nazi's third reich were more of a sweeping chain reaction affect that left many germans helpless to oppose the new facist trend. Many had no choice but to support it and its still in debate just how many germans were aware of the final solution, in fact, Hitler originally just wanted to ship all the "undesireables" to south American Countries to get rid of them but when this idea fast became unfeasable, he had no choice but to conciede to the final solution purposed by his inner circle. This does not make him any less of a monster or the atrositicies of Nazi Germany any less shocking, but it does further the fact that killing off minority groups and Nazi-ism itself wasn't exactly a country wide consensus or for that matter something you can peg on present day generations.
They're a culture which has been forced to change and has done much not only to atone for this dark period in history but have been very pro-active in preventing similar groups and sentiments from ever taking hold again. I don't agree with their censorship laws either but to slander the situation so wrecklessly is not something I can honestly agree with.

Only the two unlockable bonus games Assignment Ada and Mercenaries (plus the two weapons you can unlock in these modes) are missing in the german version. The rest of the game is identical. |
And this additional stuff is included in the Wii and the PS2-version (I actually play Assignement Ada on the Wii, a friend of me played Mercenaries on his PS2). As I read was the Gameceube-version of the game already USK-rated as the additional stuff was added. To avoid re-rating Capcom decided not to include it.

The writings of Hitler aren't banned based on protection of minors but based on copyright laws. That means, the state Bayern claims the copyright of his writings and forbids reprints.

I thought these two bonus games were missing in the german PS2 and Wii versions as well... Maybe you and your friend played imported games, are you sure there is an USK rating on the respective boxes? Btw, I own the GC version of RE4 with USK rating and both bonus games included. The first batch of copies had the USK sticker still on it. Â |
Hmm, I not really sure about the version my friend own, as you bring it up. But my Wii-version I got from a shop here in Potsdam, it has the red USK-logo on it and I play Assignement Ada. As I didnt beat it yet (I'm not the fastest gamer and I do not always has time to play) I cannot say if mercenaries is included.
Sorry Soccer games are banned..... they get injured, and they should not be able to slide tackle.... and also Soccer ball lovers are greatly offended by this.
How could you ban that game O_O, imagine that we actually one day have zombies in our cities, how would they know how to act O_O, this is not only a game, is a simulation for the future (joking :P )
