Good numbers for the 360 considering the price.

No it's not. It's below 150K just after a price drop. And it's a september month. Last year in the corresponing week the X360 sold 175,000 units.

This is very bad...

The 360 by all means isn't setting the world on fire right now, however it's not doing bad either.

You need to get over this price drop lark. It was NEVER going to have any impact like the PS3's. A) the Elite might as well be the pro but black, both have been available for the past 2 years. I don't think Microsoft's intention with this cut was to raise sales, more sustain them and toe it inline with the slim PS3.

If sales can hit 5 mill from now to Dec 31st (a million lower than last year) then they're doing fine in my books.

PS3 is already 50,000 units ahead of X360 in 2009 sales so far.

*crush* :/

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

And the PS3 still behind the 360 by 8 million LTD.  When the 360 leads is cut down to 4 million then M$ should be worried but right now is not the time.

How can anyone argue the Xbox 360 is doing poorly? It didn't get a price drop, they increased the size of the HDD, last week they still would have had some 60GB's getting fire-saled.

This week with that all done, they are still kicking ass. Look at the history of how much PS3/Xbox 360 sales have dropped when the other got a price drop. In this instance (thus far) that hasn't happened. Truly proving the durability of Xbox 360 as a brand.

Most people do, only people such as yourself that constantly see red would take it seriously.

25k drop, with probably far better margins on the consoles and better revenue overall is bad?

Maybe. But there's another way to interpret what's going on. The lack of intensity of the MS price drop might suggest that it's a lot harder to make savings on the X360 than on the PS3.

It's not better revenue ovarall though? Because both units cost the same as last year ($299$/300), but the same week last year sold 25k more.

Nice 2nd week for the slim Europe will not be a problem for Playstation. Fifa and pro evo on the way. Shame its still a bit dear in the UK.

Ynwa.

This was the PS3's official party line 10 months ago.
