Final Fantasy 13 will be the first major RPG on an Xbox system; then sales will be high.

Western RPGs don't count, there has yet to be a really great one outside of Japan which combines pleasing environments, pleasing characters, and a good plotline. Most Western RPGs are too focussed on being geeky like Star Wars or Dungeons and Dragons, or some other game full of bland environments and characters

Well, aside from World of Warccraft, that one is very major; but a different market and category of game.

Yeah Square Enix basically window seated him after the Spirits Within. The same thing Sega did to Yu Suzuki after Shenmue 2. Sadly in Suzuki's case it was Sega's failure to push the Dreamcast not Shemmue's quality that limited it's sales.

Not really. We are in MS section, talking about Xbox 360 games. We will be talking Pokemon, DQ and MH after they will be available for some console or handheld from MS.

well if its just the 360 i can think of a few reasons why their not at a million. For one thing look at the console sales for the 360 in Japan. Only about a million ppl actually own a 360 over their and therefore the install base isnt as high to get those high numbers they deserve. Also many ppl think of the 360 as the shooter console and expected RPG's to be on the PS3. Remember FFXIII was originally a PS3 exclusive and many ppl at the time bought a PS3 for the purpose of playing it. But with FFXIII 360 bound and the lack of RPG's on PS3, we realized that the 360 was the console RPG system this gen. As for the actual sales themselves, well for games not named "final fantasy" or "Kingdom hearts" the sales really arent that bad. As for TOV's case its a result of poor localization on Bamco's part(took over a year to release in Europe with a full blown price tag).

oh and on a personal note, if ur an RPG fan and u dont have a DS, guess what..YOUR DOING IT WRONG!!

Those are great numbers good sales. Look at jrpg's sales that arent named FF, KH'S or DQ.

Pull up PS2 numbers that exclude the top tier JRPGS(FF, KH, DQ, ect) and you will see a similar pattern. Almost all of the JRPGs on the 360 are new IPs. I think those numbers are pretty good for new IPs.
