I posted 2 weeks ago that COD4 is the best selling shooter in history.

PC 8m

xbox 360 7.5m

ps3 4.5

=20million and still selling, Keep in mind that this game came out (2years ago) with half the user base that there is now.

Now when modern warfare 2 comes out in november i have no doubt that it will outsell cod4, Everyone i know is going to buy it day1.

=25m

first day sales for modern warfare 2 will be 2.5m on all platforms.

Not bad, Call of Duty: MW2 should sell a lot, I think it might even have a chance to hit 30 million total if number 3 does not come in two years and if number 2 eventually becomes a greatest hit.

Edit: I was a sucker who believed PC market was worth a damn and COD4 might have actually sold 8 million. I stand correct, and will never use PC gaming sales for any thing, since I don't know a thing about that market).

Modern Warfare 2 will not sell 25 million copies. PC owners will torrent the game. The game will sell 10-13 million copies between the PS3 and 360 and PC. My friend who takes games off torrents got Street Fighter IV the other day and said the game is going to sell like shit on PC. I would give PC 1-3 million in sales at the most.

Just looking at console sales, I do believe it can sell 13m, but not quite 15m, I don't think it going to sell that much more than Modern Warfare which sold 12m on consoles

maybe 8 million pirated, but definately not even close to that in actual sales.

Modern Warfare did maybe half of that on the PC. More than that is not possible.
There is evidence from Activision that it didn't sell that well on PC in comparison with the console versions.

25 million is a bit ambitious for anything this gen. I mean, Wii Fit hasn't gotten there yet (pretty sure), and i don't know that Modern Warfare 2 will be quite as indomitable as many think.

10-15 million, probably closer to the higher end of that.
