Most sane, rational non-fanboys have admitted that Sony, as a video game console company, is probably done and that this is probably their last gen.

which is why Sony have just completely redesigned the PSP?

Redesigned the PSP my foot. They made it harder for stores to carry it as retailers CANNOT sell games for it. Sure the PSP-3000 is still in stock and can live beside the PSPGo in harmony, but the fact of the matter is that the PSPGo was a wasted idea. Just what new ideas were they bringing forth? Lack of physical media for current software you already own? Lower battery life? The concept sounds neat on paper, but seriously, how is it going to revolutionize the way we play our games??

And as for this, PSN cards? They are coming to Europe and as far as i know, have been in the US and Japan for quite a while.

More PSPgo's being sold = more PSN cards getting sold at retail.

1) It's still a redesign

2) Not only are there PSN cards for retailers to sell but the system is priced higher. Who's to say retailers aren't making more when they sell PSPGo's compared to PSP3000's?

3) It does not have less battery life.

4) It was confirmed at E3 when the PSPGo was announced that games would be coming on UMD and PSN store, neither psp owner loses out. Want some old games? Buy a 3000, you can still download games with it.

For people like me who have very few PSP games they wanna play, and like to use the device for portable multimedia, the PSPGo is the essence of awesome. Not everyone find the PSPGo to be a "Wasted Idea".

4 ≈ One

There doing fine, GT5 will give them a huge sales boost.

By the looks of it, the PSP Go is just what a lot of non psp owners are looking for. Have you read any of the PSP Go topics? Tons of people on this very forum actually REALLY want the Go. It is a great little device. Could it have been better? Sure, but its not a PSP 2, it is meant to stand by the 3000 - not take over it.

A price cut with no effect on PS3 sales.

if the ps3 dosent start closing the gap with 360 after the (presumed) slim launch with price cut and this amazing '09 - '10 lineup by the end of '10 its over and it will end as third cause i feel these next 6 months are the the last bullets in sony s gun for a (market) comeback

The Wii will be a topic in business school in the "How to..." class and PS3 will be a topic in the "How not to..." class. The question is will PS3 be a topic in the "How not to...and recover" class? At this point I think it will, but no one can say for sure.

Comeback is such a vague term as to be meaningless without more definition of parameters. If PS3 outsells Wii (and thereby 360) by a few thousand units per week for the majority of the rest of the generation it will not overtake Wii (and probably not 360) in lifetime sales, but that's still a comeback is it not?

Heck PS3 even selling within 10K units of the Wii per week for the remainder of the generation is an undeniable comeback.

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

How come the line where the PS3's turn around 'has to happen by' is always shifting backwards? I remember times given in 2007, 2008, 2009 and many of these different dates were given by the same people!

Tease.

comeback to what? the PlayStation brand is strong as ever. Next gen even the now 360 faithful will hold their wallets and wait, as there won't be a 3 year warranty for the nextbox from day one. The 360 is done, it won't outsell its last year by 1 million selling for dirt cheap the whole 2009, as soon as the PS3 hits $300 they'll be outsold by more than 5 million units in a single year.
