Not if it's the whole point of the story.

I hate Final Fantasy VIII.

OMFG no he didn't. /kills self.

VIII ROCS BrO~! Play it again, you missed epicness.

I don't think the game is bad.

The music was good, and the magic hating battle system was above average.

But the story... oh God, I hate that story. I don't know why, I just hate it.

The charactes are just... ugh. I hate Squall, hate Zell, hate Rinoa... not one character I like in the whole game. Even Laguna. And to top it all: Worst. Cid. Ever.

But overall game was ok.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

isnt there always?

No. There are many JRPGS that don't have love stories like Tales of Vesperia, Final Fantasy 12, Dark Cloud 1 and Persona 3. There are more but i can't think of any others at the moment.

I loved Rita enough for it to be like a creepy love story, with a grotesque pervert boss ZenfoldorVGI, desperately in love with the little salty mage.

As much as I want to laugh, make fun of this post, or call you out...

Anything I say would be hypocritical. =P

NO, love is a concept developped by women for women and it needs to stop.

Should there be explicit sex scenes in JRPGs ?

Yes, definitely.

God i hate fanboys, almost as much as they hate facts

JRPG's are mostly prince and princess stories or at least something close to that, so they are a big part of JRPG's (Or story-telling games). I have no problem with them, especially in the RPG's I've played. I loved it in FFX and FFVII.

You REALLY need to play more JRPGs.

If I do will I get to choose who to love? Or will the story decide it for me?

Why does it matter? Its just a game.

STAGE has the complex that if he isn't duped into believing that all of his decisions matter, it's not a RPG.

The only RPG he wants to play is where he plays himself, not another character.

In RPG's you don't play as yourself. You play as another character...but of course, you can name the character after yourself. The control of the character is in your hands..not the storys. You mold the story by your actions. Keep fooling yourself on the definition.
