Wow, sucks to be a hardware company in Japan. PS3 and PS2 don't seem as effected, in the fact their sales have been lower than this before, whereas the NDS, PSP, Wii and X360 reach their lowest sales of the year by a long shot.

wow they're also quite a bit lower than VGC numbers.

That's a really slow week...

the drop offs for the different consoles in percentages actually are:

DS: -18%
Wii: -26%
PSP: -30%
PS2: -6%
PS3: -27%
360: -21%

So only the PS2 isn't as affected, all other platformers are significantly down.

wow.. anything significant happening in japan to cause that?

I would assume that the PSP drop was in anticipation for the PSP-2000 and Crisis Core....Rest is due to summer being over and kids being back in school.

Hopefully next week, sales will be up a bit.

At leats the PSP hardware sales will be bigger with the CC bundles , and the DS to , with the Pokemon bundles :)

However though, a game like that kind of Pokemon (a spinoff), probably won't move much hardware.

We should see PSP > DS next week.

Though it would be a dream for me , Im not sure of it ... the DS still has a high chance to take the crown of the PSP even this week . Lets hope not :D

Mario Strikers come out on September 20, so I think that is the week when the Wii 'lull' in hardware sales will end.

Wii under 30k looks pretty mortal...
