@Werekitten: I'm talking about his statement saying 3rd parties in general shouldn't be interested on Wii. Not on the specific case of id (I mentioned it's not surprising they don't care about it given their background).
My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957
Let's check the latest Id games on consoles:
Quake 4 on XBOX
http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=1819®ion=All
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
PS3
http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=16993®ion=All
XBOX360
http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=16992®ion=All
Not quite good, and even some so called "flops" like Madworld are going to surpass those games. Bottom line, asking Wii support to ID (a PC center company) is like asking for a console version of World of Warcraft from Blizzard

Well, Quake 4 was mainly a PC game. The same goes to ETQW but in that case, the console ports were also late and terrible. We should probably wait until Rage to get a better idea of how id's games do on consoles.

Substitute "id" with any studio going for high production value, multiplatform games with limited appeal on the Wii's extended audience (hint: that's most of what is developed on the 360/PS3) and the whole argument is intact.
l;ike i give a toss, what game did this idiot make anyway?

He's the Co-Owner and CEO of id Software so despite he isn't involved a lot with the games, he's the guy that brings control on everything. BTW it's interesting that nobody remember the bad story of id with Nintendo, back in the old days they release Woldfestein on SNES (with censoership and terrible changes) so they gave the code for SNES cartidges to Wisdom Tree. The result? The only unlicensed game on the SNES: Super Noah's Ark
They've quite a bad relantionship.

Wow....now i know that his company makes engines and he is mainly a PC man...but man, those are terrible sales...I wonder how much money their company lost? Maybe not much, if they ported it from PC and they are PC guys...
| WereKitten said: PS: I also wonder what game-centric IP means... |
It sounds like he's using it as the opposite of licensed property. So a game-centric IP would be an IP whose original and primary market is in games. Halo has books, DOOM has a movie, but both are game-centric IPs. On the other hand, something like Star Wars would be a movie-centric IP, even though numerous games have used the IP. (In fact, there's been more Star Wars games than movies.)
