The demo sold pretty well. I think Polyphony Digital should stop working on the updates for the demo and work on the actual game and try to release the game late 2009.

I thought they did.  We were supposed to get some updates/dlc for GT5P, but I haven't seen anything except a 1 big patch.  I hope they include better matchmaking support in the full game.

The next update will feature a weather system and car damage AFAIK.

@Gilgamesh

In Japan it's obviously because of the bundles

lol I was waiting for someone to say that, but when Wii Sports hit 40 million (even though like 95% of the sales was from being bundled) everyone still shat there pants.

GT5P was done selling in Japan and only got that far because of a late boost from the bundles.  Nobody said that everyone of those Wii Sports owners would have bought wii sports but many of them would as you can see from the attach rate in Japan.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

The fact that this many people paid for a demo only means one thing...

You think that is WOW wait until the full version comes out. When it does it will have a 1:1 sales ratio with a PS3. Even people that have a PS3 and already purchased GT5 Pro will purchase a new PS3 to play GT5.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Gran Turismo 5 will sell at least 9m on PS3 imo, maybe as high as 12m

GT5P - 3m (on userbase of 20m and lower - demo)
GT5 - 12m (on userbase of 25m and higher - full game)

so? F$#%K Philopony Digital! No, really...I'm very pissed at them, even with such a succesful Prologue they haven't put their shit together to release the true GT5 already! If I don't see GT5 this year I'm boycotting it!

Gran Turismo is Sony's biggest franchise therefore im not suprised, plus the game was heavily bundled with PS3's , but it did well indeed.

Okay now Wii sports is heavily bundled. GT5 Prologue was not.

Now I'm not saying it wasn't bundled, but it wasn't heavily bundled. I'm pretty sure it was only bundled in Japan and Europe and only for a short period of time. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm glad the demo is doing good.

I'm sure they have more than enough money to take their time and make the final release one of the best selling games of this generation.

I will be getting it for sure.
