I thought they did.  We were supposed to get some updates/dlc for GT5P, but I haven't seen anything except a 1 big patch.  I hope they include better matchmaking support in the full game.  

The next update will feature a weather system and car damage AFAIK.

In Japan it's obviously because of the bundles

lol I was waiting for someone to say that, but when Wii Sports hit 40 million (even though like 95% of the sales was from being bundled) everyone still shat there pants.
