yea, but that was a week before the cut, and rumors started flying everywhere, and from some things I heard, store clerks even told people to hold off on purchasing the thing for a week. The PS3 isn't quite in the same boat. The speculation is all over the map for when it will happen, and we aren't 1-2 weeks before the supposed cut. The last article I saw was over a month ago, and most average non internet gaming nerds probably forgot about the whole thing and just want a system.

I'm sure some people are waiting for a cut, but they probably don't care about a date, they just care about the final price.

I am. I'd like a second PS3 for my bedroom, but I'm waiting for this damn price cut!

Why hurry to buy the PS3 now? Remember, it is futureproof ( will last longer than ten years ) you know. I might buy one this year IF the price goes down buy $100 for all SKUs so that I can replace both my vcr and dvd players.

If not, I'll just wait to buy one next year. $299 would be the price for me to get one.

The Xbox 360 pretty much advertises itself as a cheeper PS3. FF XIII. GTA4, tekken 6, Resident Evil 5, etc. Microsoft probably absorbed the majority of people who were waiting.

Still makes me wonder just how many PSN accounts are unique, considering I'm sure thousands of them if not more are duplicates created to take advantage of different regions (UK for example) or certain games (CoD 4/5).

Yeah I have 3 PSN accounts at the moment (German, UK & US)

Maybe sometime a Japanese account will follow ^^

I could afford the PS3 right now but I refuse to financially support Sony's media format domination. So I refuse to pay a premium for bluray.

I would probably buy another cheaper one but it has to have a faster blu ray drive...
