Sony did not develope Lair, Factor 5 did. Last time I checked Patapon, Loco Roco, Echocrome, SingStar and many other games developed by Sony were fun for everyone.

My thoughts:
1.1 - I think its a good thing, but I can understand why hardcore would not. Devopment money that might have been spent on them could end up elsewhere. (though one would hope that the growth of the industry would result in the pie just getting bigger, and HC still getting their fill even if its split more ways)
1.2 - This is pure opinion; the fact I agree with you doesn't change that.
1.3 - I think we will all gain next gen from this; no console will launch for over $300 for at least a gen, maybe two.
1.4 - Depends on what you are looking for. It does exactly what I want, though I understand why hardcore hate it.
1.5 - This is pure opinion; I find a year with Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, and Animal Crossing strong.
1.6 - I think most would agree, but that many wii fans, myself included won't rule out a comeback by the wii till at least the end of 2010.
1.7 - Really? Why?
2.1 - Its fair to say that the 360 gets maligned at times unfairly, but this "no matter what your gaming tastes are.." is completely untrue. Just as an example, all my wife plays are WiiFit, Mario Party, and Wii Sports Bowling. How would Xbox meet her needs?
2.2 - When just a couple of month ago general setiment was exactly the opposite, why would you expect consensus on this?
2.3 - Fair enough.
2.4 - The fact it is the only one to charge will likely always be a point of contention.
2.5 - OK
2.6 - First and foremost, MS are business geniuses.
2.7 - Now that's really getting away from your original intent.
2.8 - Again, who is buying a console for DVD playback in 2008?
3.1 - Opinion again.
3.2 - I'll grant that many people truly appreciate this, if you grant that many more don't care.
3.3 - For the hardcore.
3.4 - OK.
3.5 - There are very few here (myself included) who are qualified to have an opinion on who is to blame; most people just recycle quotes they've heard elsewhere, or give random guesses.
3.8 - Depends on what the truth of 3.5 is. It certainly would be odd for them to have put in such expensive HW if its not actually capable of greatness (even if only in theory).
3.9 - Do we know what Sony expected or are we attributing the fanboys opinions to the company?
3.10 - A completely reasonable person can think a lot of things...

I think you mean Nintendo doesn't make new IPs that interest you, because they're making tons of new IPs. Isn't it new casual Nintendo IPs that are destroying the industry? Nintendogs is from this gen. So is Brain Training. The Wii Sports/Play/Fit/Music franchise is new. Captain Rainbow, Disaster, the Bit Generations stuff like Orbital and SoundVoyager and their Art Style cousins on WiiWare, Elektroplankton, and a bunch of stuff. |
yeah my bad i meant to say none that interest me. Wii sports is cool and brain training, but nothing else interests people like me who like action/FPS/racing/sports games
I disagree with many of them, this so called "Fanboy-Agreement" looks like it has alot of Xbox 360 Bias in it.
So no...

Where is Mike B when you need him ?
You must be joking? Nintendo's first party is the best and we all agree on that? :D
dharh said: Sorry but can't agree with: Article 3.5 -- We no longer blame “lazy developers” for the PS3’s programming difficulties. Sony deserves all the blame. Being a programmer myself there are alot of really bad lazy programmers out there, im not yet convinced PS3 programming is so difficult that good programmers couldn't get the job done just as well as any PC/X360 or Wii programmer could do. The XBAR is the best interface of the three imo. So there you go. I think the graphics thus far have hit the mark, now I am more than willing to concede that fanboy boasting that graphics is the be all end all and that wii capabilities were sure to doom it into obscurity were dumb exaggerations. Edit: You seem to be missing 3.6. Also i'd be more than willing to concede an article Article 3.6 -- PS3's blu-ray capabilities have hurt it more than helped it due to driving up the price. |
article 3.8 is true...they have done it every generation, ps2 emotion engine will deliver near photo relaistic graphics rember that one. I will say this they know how to hype there system though so 3.8 is true and should stay
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

I'd like to submit that anything points relating to DVD playback are completely irrelevant - if you're the type of person who doesn't have a DVD player yet (at the cripplingly expensive price of $25-$30 - GASP!) you probably don't own a current generation video game systems which I imagine you probably think is something only millionaires can afford.

I don't have room for dvd-player so I use my 360 as one. So it is not completely irrelevant. ;)
