If it drops to 299, and is bundled with GT5, KZ2, etc.. its going to outsell the 360.

Next year the PS3 has a significantly better lineup than Microsoft and Nintendo combined, we will see whether or not that actually matters. This year it was clear games didnt matter, but price did.

Wii Fit says games mattered a lot, muchacho. Fable and Gears make the same argument.

I don't know where you are getting your numbers from, but according to the only reliable source (MS) they are about even, and according to the only reliable source on SCE (Sony) they are in the hole big-time.

Secondly, it's already been disproven that the 360 graphics card is inferior... I have to eat crow on this one, because I used to say the same thing.  I was wrong, I admitted it, and so should you.  The real difference in price between a PS3 & 360 is the Blu-ray drive... and Sony is obviously stuck with it.

Next, it was actually just shown that MS doesn't lose money on the Arcade.  And I'm not even talking about the cost of the console to make (which is really cheap BTW) but the fact that MS makes loads of money on XBOX LIVE and significantly higher software sales per console.  MS hasn't been swimming in cash when it comes to the XBOX product line, but they are much better off this generation than last.

Lastly, you are right on Sony needing to do something soon.  But outside of selling the PS3 as a loss leader, I just don't see how they can do it.  I'm a long-time Sony fan, so I'd love to see them make a comeback, I just don't see how it's possible this generation.

All Sony can do is learn from their mistake, and try again next generation.  Bigger is not always better, and this generation's Wii phenomenon is proof of that.  Innovation is still king in the video game world.

or threads by members like Soriku saying PS3 wouldn't cross 5 Million LTD in 07 n die soon after.

how about we just not be so cruel as there are fools on all sides if we are going to be playing this game.

I believe that PS3 will eventually overtake the 360. But i beleive that it will be too late in the gen to really matter a whole lot. Microsoft has already done its damage and now has a secure name in the Video game console business.

I feel that even if PS3 does pull ahead microsoft has still "won" the battle of the HD consoles because it has seriously diminished the Gap between the two and expanded its intended audience.

True, but...

Sony has a big reason to look foolish.  Overpriced system, painting themselves into a price corner because of Blu-ray (which is especially disheartening considering Sony mocked the competition because of their LACK of Blu-ray).  Sony really believed this generation was theirs because they won out the HD DVD/Blu-ray war.

Microsoft as well... one year head start in the console race, the RROD, a now worthless HD DVD add on drive.

Nintendo... hmm, what do they have they done to be called fools?  Yeah, well, nothing.

They control a near 50% stake of the market (depsite a very late release), SD graphics, profitable console sales (even if they never sell a single game to someone they make money), the most innovative console ever released in any generation, and most importantly, everyone wrote them off about two generations ago.

So, forgive me, but I can't think of a thing to call foolish in the Nintendo camp.  They were smart, everyone else eff'd it up big time. 

As for me, I bought & enjoy all 3 consoles, so I win on all fronts :)
