I'm loyal to Nintendo, but that's different. they actually have first party games. And I'm a fanboy. Odds are when the next best console comes around, say its the PS4 vs. the xboxWHATEVA, and the PS4 is the dominant one, all the 360 fanboys are going to run off to the PS4 and forget about the 360.

hell. even if Nintendo doesn't have the biggest base of core gamers, it'll atleast keep those people while the fanboys for other consoles are going to abandon ship eventually.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure that Sony has some first party games.  I could be wrong though, who knows.  Sony could have ridden the wave of good feelings toward Sony, but they screwed up the most important thing: Price.  If the next Nintendo console debuts at 600 bucks, I'd love to see this super loyal Ninty fanbase show up.  Marios not that important.

ya, price was a huge factor. i'd struggle to buy my nintendo console for that much money... I'm a little fuzzy on the definiton of first party games anyway. I meant games that could only and would only be on a Nintendo console.

First party games are games that are made by the console maker or someone they own.  So God of War, Uncharted, and Gran turismo are all first party games because Sony makes them.  Yeah I was just trying to say, price is the one thing that can kill any fanbase no matter how loyal.

That's what I thought first party games were, but I didn't know Sony actually made those games. I learn something new every day. I've never actually gave GoW a fair play... but now I feel like asking for Uncharted for Christmas.

oops double post...

Wait a second.. i thought that the people who always brought the Playstation brand were the Playstation fanboys..

@ymeaga1n - He was referring to recognition, not revenue. I think.

Brand loyaly exists to a certain point, of course Sony (if did) was naive thinking that

the 120+ million PS2 buyers were brand loyal to them, the brand loyal audience is

to some extent the ones that went with them with a pretty expensive machine with

a very few games.

some gamers are loyal (like me) but for the majority, your right.

Subtract 18 million (gamecube sales) from the total wii sales and thats how many bandwagon jumpers you have for Nintendo. You can do the same with 360 over the original Xbox.
