I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks fondly of AoE 2.

No seriously NO OTHER GAME CAN MATCH IT ( except Total Ahnillation that game was created a year b4 SC and it contributed a lot to RTS)

Professional players make 400 grand a year (actaully Savior makes ~70k but w/e)

yes it is far and beyond those other twitchy RTS games. StarCraft, on the ohter hand, is far and beyond,even over far and beyond, Fragile Allegiance.

The all time best is Company of Heroes. I think I have spent more hours playing it than any other game on my PC (other than MMOs).

But I will always have a spot near the top of any "Best of RTS" lists for Herzog Zwei - one of the best, yet most overlooked games for the Genesis. That was my first taste of RTS style gameplay and I have been a fan ever since. The game was ahead of it's time.
