Forums - Nintendo - Will Disaster Day of Crisis be crap?

@Arkk: So, how should it have been delayed? Considering this was on the list as "2nd priority" along with Project H.A.M.M.E.R (which also is "on hold"), the delay propably was made that "1st priority" games could have been done ready with Disasters resources. And the last delay was made for the game not to be delayed again. If i recall, Nintendo tends to delay its games always without setting a new date.

As far as I know, Project H.A.M.M.E.R. has been cancelled, no?

They should have just delayed it. A good old regular delay, you know? Usually, when a game is indefinitely delayed, it's a very bad sign.

Just kiss the tip.

Im still hoping this game is very good, it was one of the 1st Wii titles I was excited for.

Almost assuredly because it has disaster written all over it...

As Han Solo would say: "I have a bad feeling about this".

@Arkk: So it seems. I propably missed the cancelling news back then. Well, i wasn't expecting Project H.A.M.M.E.R for a long time anyway.

And no. It's not necessarily a bad sign. Basically what it means, is delay without a pre-set release date. It can also be read as the developers are involved with a more important project. Also, the MK64 developers were making SM64 at the time, which caused MK64 to be delayed (and despite extra workforce, SM64 still had a massive delay).
-The game has been delayed.
-Until when?
-We don't have a targeted release date for it
.
Besides, looking at the publisher, delays aren't really not in common.

No, well at least hopefully not. It's going to be great, didn't Nintendo push the release back to improve it before? I think they polished it.

A delay is more often a statement about the initial poor quality of the title, not the eventual greatness of it.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I'm going to have to disagree with this.  Nintendo delays most of it's good games until they are ready.  How many times did they delay Brawl?

Honestly, it's difficult to say. Something smells VERY wrong about the way they're handling the release of this game. The lack of hype is sadly fairly standard for Nintendo these days, modulo a couple of franchises (Mario, Zelda, Smash, and Wii _____), but they don't normally announce things this close to the release date.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
