Forums - Nintendo - We should all buy The Conduit when is realease.........

I really dislike FPS but then again this is for Wii wich means better controls(much better then 2 analog sticks)

rwlly enjoyed MP3 and its very similar to a FPS so I will probably buy this.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

im gonna buy it if its a good game
wiispeak + good graphics doesnt make a game good

I will buy it if it will have some kind of local coop play. HVS already said that there will be no splitscreen, but maybe a second player can join the game (only to shoot).

How to make a shooter non-generic:

Include all the basic elements of your typical shooter and make good use of the Wii remote. Done.

This is obviously a limited time offer. When third parties start dumping 360-like numbers of shooters on the Wii with controls yanked from Metroid Prime 3, all of us jaded gamers will start yawning at each new one announced. But until then, this game will kick the ass of Halo, Resistance, or Call of Duty simply because it won't rely on crippled thumbsticks for aiming.

The biggest problem for Conduit is that CoD: World at War might beat it to the punch while delivering better multiplayer features. But we haven't seen any good gameplay videos of CoD on Wii, nor have we seen any giddily excited previewers bubbling about how much fun it is, like we have with Conduit. Furthermore, CoD bears the lodestone of WWII around its neck, which turns so many people off instantly. And I know that if they use CoD4's leveling system, I'll be completely turned off online. The feature might as well not exist for me.

So tell me, if Wii owners shouldn't be excited about Conduit, which FPS should we be excited about? CoD:WaW about which we've seen little or Red Steel 2 about which we've seen nothing?

To be fair, I think the Call of Duty franchise name is strong enough now to carry that load and then some.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Does anyone have a good source for this game's ESRB rating?

I'm already sold on The Conduit. Day one purchase fo'sho, unless the unthinkable happens and it sucks - which I doubt.

@Ghaude

1. Just thought you should know online multiplayer wasn't there since the beginning. It wasn't made available until Summer 2007 after Super Mario Strikers was released. The point I was making was to not give credit to High Voltage for implementing the Wii Speak, since developers in the past were already asking for it for their own games. It's a very standard feature that would have been offered in more games had Nintendo done the smart thing and had it ready on day one. The point also wasn't whether someone should blindly hype a game. We're all guilty of that. This topic has to do with whether we should purchase The Conduit simply because we want third party titles to succeed, regardless of the game's individual quality or one's interest in actually playing it. That I don't agree with.

2. The marketing High Voltage is doing is genius. However, I, unlike many others it seems, recognize it as marketing and not a therapy session to Wii veteran gamers. This also has to do with comments made by the OP.

3. A FPS can't really be very unique in this day and age, and that's exactly why I said The Conduit will probably show it's age the moment FPS games start kicking in regularly on the Wii. Everything it offers can be duplicated easily, and everything it doesn't offer is exactly what would have seperated it from the pack. MadWorld cannot easily be duplicated. It will always be a unique experience that will probably have a long life of cult status amongst gamers.

4. Fine, hype both games. That's fine. My point was that I don't feel The Conduit should be the poster child for Wii third party support, and I offered up MadWorld as a better alternative of a game we should tell people to buy just because, regardless of it's quality, because at least then it promotes unique and unforgettable action games instead of done to death sci-fi shooters.

@bardicverse

I can't stop hypocrisy as a mod. It isn't against forum rules. If you want hypocrisy stopped then contact ioi and ask him to shut the forums down because that is the only way to get rid of it.

@Arkk

I never said High Voltage were the only one's hyping their game. I know it's getting positive previews and I'm happy for it. I'm not trying to rain on the parade of good game development. However, since day one High Voltage has been talking about Wii owners getting the short end of the stick, well before The Conduit was playable. My point was simply that their marketing is brainwashing, and if you look at this topic and what the OP is asking people to do, you can see it's working very well.

@famousringo

That was exactly what I was trying to say. The Conduit looks great right now standing on it's own, but unless the Wii never gets drenched in FPS support, it will probably age considerably bad and very quickly too.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

I will be buying this game. WHEN, I actually get around to buying it is another story. I try not to buy new games when I still need to finish the one I am currently playing.

I do want to support High Voltage though. I bought Gyrostarr on WiiWare. It's pretty fun, esecially with more than one person.

I hope this game turns out great. High Voltage is defintely saying all the right things.
