Forums - Nintendo - What's your favourite Switch 2 game so far? (and why)

Now that we've had a good year and some change of Nintendo's new system, and a wide range for games from both first and third party studios, what is your favourite game for it so far, and why?

Around the Network

Probably Resident Evil Requiem.

The game is incredibly good, has great image quality and runs really well on Switch 2. I might declare it my very favorite game in the series if it weren't for that long, extended stretch where you play as Leon and have to get the detonator parts. There are some moments during that are good but a lot of it just dragged on and had some lame moments (like the mortar launching zombies on the roof). The part with Grace getting the batteries when saving Emily drags a bit too, but being constantly chased by Marie kept it scary. Otherwise, the game is fantastic, I really like the story and Grace & Leon as characters are my favorite protagonists in a single Resident Evil game.

I'd also go with RE7 being pretty much tied with Requiem due to its incredible story (best story in the series for me) perfect pacing and flawless performance on Switch 2, but since it's an older game already, Requiem impressed me more upon their Switch 2 debuts. Maybe. (I had never played the DLC for RE7 before, so that made me love it all over again here).

Regarding Nintendo 1st party though... either Bananza or playing Tears at 60fps. Until November 5th, anyway.

Pokopia - loved this original game so much

Yeah Requiem is probably mine as well, either that or Bananza. Both great games, in very different ways, Bananza for how tactile and creative it is, Requiem for its masterful blend of horror and action.

The one that I purchased with my system: MarioKart World. I’ve avoided playing it since I don’t want to spoil my appetite for when the DLC does inevitably drop next year (most looking forward to 200cc and *fingers crossed* traditional online races).

It really cannot be understated how great the game is in nearly every possible way! It sits up there with 8DX and Wii as among the best in the franchise, and I’d even go as far as to say the third best Nintendo developed game in the past 6/7 years (i.e. of the 2020s)— only sitting behind TotK and Pikmin 4.

Yeah MK World is up there for me too, not quite as high as Bananza or Requiem but close behind, alongside the likes of Indiana Jones and Onimusha.

Donkey Kong Bananza. There were some levels I didn't enjoy much, but overall I found it pretty addictive and usually sunk 3-4 hours a night into it until completion.

The only other games I think I have at the moment are Yoshi (decent enough but put it down once I beat the main game) and Mario Kart (not really my sort of thing - came with the console).

DK Bananza with RE9 and MKW not far behind, Onimusha, Pragmata and Octopath 0 are also good mentions.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. I know that it's an acquired taste, but I love this cozy platformer approach to level progression and the insane amount of creativity that went into every single animal type. Saw pretty much everything there is in a little over 10 hours, so it never overstays it's welcome, but even so, there is still plenty of content if you are a completionist. Oh, and did I mention the stellar art style?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I have played few native Switch 2 games, editions or otherwise. If we include Switch 2 Editions, it's Animal Crossing: New Horizons (with an honorable mention to Super Mario Bros. Wonder) just because I love that game so much.
Donkey Kong Bananza is the best in a fairer contest. It's delightful in most ways. Charming graphics and art style, some baller music, satisfying gameplay, and so on. Mario Kart World is relatively close.
