Look at Halo Studios/343.

They had a trans person model / actor as Cortana.... for a game that likely has like a 90%+ male demographic of players.
Why complicate things (and push agendas) ? Let guys have a babe, that looks like one (and is one, if you go for a actor).

Look at who they hired.
The old Bungie studio was like almost exclusively males.... that loved the idea of miltiary service, honor, and war games.
You hire some purple haired lesbian, that wants "girl boss energy" characters to dunk on master chief.... and others that "hate guns" and war, and look at the concept of military service with loathing....

What do you think happens ? The future halo games turn out crap.
Resulting in years and years going by, and eventually the studio being shut down.

It almost sounds like you want them to hand over the development of Halo to Hamas or IDF or something. Let’s not obsess over the identity of the developers. Let’s focus on the results. You don’t have to love war to make a good FPS.

I mean, I'm not sure I'd call it a "small niche" when the majority of the console audience is male.

Prioritising the majority of your audience is just good business.

The majority of the console audience is not the dude bro Halo fan type, that's just the Xbox niche, that moved mostly to PC at this point.

The "dudebro" of the 2000s became the "Ball and Gun" gamer of today that still makes up a very large portion of the console audience and fuels the huge sales of games like GTA, COD, Red Dead, NBA2K, etc.

That audience hasn't had much reason to choose Xbox in the last 13 years though, as the brand's constant fumbles made PS the more appealing platform for the AAA shooters and sports games they like.

There's one thing they could do to differentiate themselves from PlayStation next generation that I think would do a lot to shift the market share balance, and it's a simple one: continue to make and support physical games. That's literally it. Despite attempts from certain industry players to make physical seem like some sort of tiny niche, it most certainly isn't, and there's still tremendous demand for physical. I could totally see the "no disc = no buy" crowd ditch PlayStation for Xbox. Lots of people ditched PlayStation for Xbox in Gen 7 simply because of the price difference, then the next generation lot of those people flip-flopped again because Xbox deliberately sold a more expensive product because of force-bundling Kinect (and the PR blunders from earlier that year didn't help, either). So there is definitely precedent for big market share shifts over customer dissatisfaction with one of the big console brands.

Also, let's keep the politics out of the thread, m'kay. And keep any bigotry you may have to yourself.
