I'm keeping an eye on this game since I found out Kojima is trying to "break the barrier between cinema and video games" with Physint, but we never had anything on this other than a couple screenshots, and it seems like it's still a couple of years away.

Also, this is good news for me since with Xbox as the publisher, it's easier for this game to hit PC too.

Sony sure is on a goodwill run, isn't it...

Yeah I was gonna say, it's like once a week for the past 2+ months we get something like this that will piss people off, their PR is beyond toxic atm.

Does anyone know the reasoning for this? Wondering if it's with Hideo personally kinda like what happened 10 years ago with Konami or is it something with the game itself?

Well, for some reason, Sony was considering to cancel PHYSINT, and Kojima was searching for a new way for publishing it.

What we don't know is why, though. It was one of the first confirmed Playstation 6 games, and now it seems to be coming to Helix/PC.

Hermen Hulst is the worst. Dude even tried to fire Shuhei Yoshida, and now we know he quietly cancelled Physint too, eighteen months after shaking Kojima's hand on stage and talking about "encouraging him to reinvent" the genre. Man's a walking eviction notice. Kojima had to spend three months begging for a new home for the game and Xbox just casually said "I got you bro!" like they were adopting a shelter dog. Hulst really out here collecting L's and somehow still employed. Sony needs to oust this dude fast.

This situation really reminds me about Konami dropping Kojima and he being embraced by people during TGA while everyone united against Konami.

Konami also just didn't care, pretty much moved away from actual games for a few years while people hated them more than EA, and once they tried to actually get on people's good side by making single player games people wanted again they realized what had always worked for them before is, not surprisingly, working for them again now too. They were in fact the best third party studio in at least one or two recent State of Plays showings too.

Guess Sony will also need to ride the stupid ride for a few years until it bites them back, people there simply won't care as GTA 6 pushes every metric up, they will even feel justified to being assholes as if its working for them by looking at hard data boosted by the biggest game release of all time, but everything they are doing to actively hurt their brand and image is surely chasing them back as early as when they need peoples goodwill with a new system release, which is not far in the future... and by then, it might be extremely hard to pivot back... but the suits making the decisions nowdays never think ahead anymore because investors are only pleased by short term returns. But they will also gladly abandon in mass when the ship is sinking...

Right now, Sony Playstation as a brand is headed to disaster but they doubling it down constantly, so... good luck for them.
