What the fuck !!? Sony, it's getting hard to defend you! Get your shit together Playstation!!

Death stranding 2 apparently only sold about 2 million copies since launch. Not enough to make back the budget of game. Sony could have looked at it and said this game is probably not gonna be profitable(enough) to continue with financing it.

It was estimated to be at 2 million a week after the pc version launched. It sold over 400k week 1 on pc so it is likely well over 2 million at this point.

PlayStation in 2026:

- End Destiny
- End physical gaming forever
- End porting exclusives to PC
- Completely lose Hideo Kojima
- Attempt to cancel Kojima's next Metal Gear franchise
- Kojima cuts ties entirely and goes to XBOX
- Force your single-player studios to make live service games
- Concord happens
- Proceed to cancel most of them, losing years of development time and billions of dollars
- Buy Bluepoint and have them make a live-service rather than remakes
- Close Bluepoint down before they release any games
- Start selling vertical stands separately rather than have them come with the console
- Console prices at an all-time high

Probably not enough however even if it hit let's say 4 million thats still only $280 million in revenue, take away 30% for steams cut and it probably didn't break even if you include advertising. 

Yeah, Sony must have lost faith in this project at some point. Kojima's games can be really out there and they are kind of love or hate, hit or miss for people.

But knowing Sony's ability to make decisions lately, watch this game become the next big thing right after they gave it up.

Any bets on when and what the next shitty thing sony does will be.
