Two Directs in one week is a pleasant surprise.
I’m kinda excited.

Given that fact that GTA 6 is 30 FPS experience on more powerful consoles, I doubt it will work for Switch 2. Another thing is GTA Online, which would tank performance with online connectivity and huge number of logics and interactions that require more CPU prowess.

Isn't it time for a new Smash Bros. too? It's been 8 years since Ultimate - 12 years if you think it's an expansion of the WiiU version.
Also 9 years since Mario Odyssey.

Hoping for at least one of the two. GTA 6 would be a dream.

For Zelda it would be great if OOT is something more that a plain remake. A movie trailer would be a dream.

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Double direct is going to make this period feel like E3 again, the is also a Treehouse stream straight after. * = hopeful.

Another Zelda 2D Remake (possibly ALTTP)

Diablo 4 Announcement, D2 mouse support added.

It's about time for a new paper mario. It's been 6 years since origami king. It's also time for a new 3d mario. I'm expecting (moreso hoping for) one of those

Alrighty, here are my predictions for the mainline Direct:
- Third-party and indies. Lots of that to fluff up the presentation.
- No release dates will be given beyond January 2027. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get a February or even March release date for something, though doubtful IMO.
...(So keep your expectations in check, all.)
- Nintendo Switch Sports Resorts either gets a Direct presentation announced for later this month OR we get lots of info in the General Direct. My guess is the latter.
- The Duskbloods will finally get its release date. Being that a network test was just done, I'm thinking it could be as soon as a shadowdrop. Though most likely it'll be an early October or early December release.
- Bold prediction: MarioKart World DLC Season Pass announced with roll out starting in January 2027.
- I don't think we'll see much more than perhaps a trailer for Xenoblade Genesis. That could be the opener (or a closer if the presentation is really weak).
- Super Metroid remake or Metroid Ravenous reveal. Maybe a 2026 release for December, though I'm thinking it'll likely go without a release date for now.
- There will be one reveal that really sends fans through the roof. Whether that be the new 2D Metroid (that's my guess), Warioland, or Nintendogs, I do firmly believe Nintendo will drop something major.
- No 3D Mario. No 3D Kirby. No Smash Bros. MAYBE Pikmin 5 (in which case, a Pikmin 4 NS2 Edition will be revealed alongside it). But nothing else. None of that nonsense, Nintendo is 100% saving these for when they need it (i.e. for a February or June Direct, following a 2027 price hike). Reveal the game too early and all the sudden less people are going out to purchase Switch 2 systems following a 2027 price hike.
- Something will be announced for NSOnline though not sure what. Maybe Smash Bros 64? Not sure.

And for the Zelda Direct:
- First look at movie. We'll get a release date, a finalized name, casting, and Miyamoto will talk a bit.
- Big new trailer and extensive look at Zelda Oca-remake of Time.
- Zelda themed console and pro-controller revealed for Ocarina.
- Ocarina of Time amiibo will be announced and released to coincide with the movie, just like with the Mario Galaxy movie.
- I'd imagine the remake of Ocarina will include a new-and-improved version of that scrapped Ura Zelda for the 64DD (different from what was included in the Master Quest and 3DS remake).
- Bold prediction: Twilight Princess is announced for NSOnline OR WWHD/TPHD are finally revealed for NS1.

If Sakurai isn't directing Smash, it's not unlikely for it to come out in 2027. If he is, it might still be possible but way trickier. Sakurai worked on Kirby Air Riders from April 2022 to November 2025.

Ultimate started pretty much right after the end of Smash 4's DLC in early 2016 and wrapped (minus DLC) in late 2018 when the game launched. It is possible for this game to not take longer to develop, and it could take shorter if it has a noticeably cut roster of characters and not a huge overhaul of the move sets.

I don't think Sakurai was working on the next Smash while working on Kirby, at least not for more than a few months at most.

If Sakurai is directing Smash again, I think 3D Mario will be out before Smash.

For the Zelda Direct:
- We will see Ocarina remake, which will be a complete remake, but only portions will be 'reimagined', like Hyrule field. Release November 2026
- We will get a 'Zelda Challenge', similar to the DK one.
- Zelda special edition Switch 2 and pro control announcement
- First Zelda movie trailer, introduction of the studio staff and actors.
- I could see ports of WWHD and TPHD, but feels like these are just myths at this point.
- If the above is not true, I feel like there will be a small left field Zelda project announced. First thought is Cadence of Hyrule 2, but the developer just released a game in 2025 so that seem unlikely. So I think there will be a similar quirky game.
- No look at the new Zelda game, though Aunoma might throw a hint they are working on a special new project.

Main Direct
- Lots of Third Party titles. Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin Creed Black Flag, Diablo 4, Lots of RE remakes ports announced, among lots of others.
- Switch Sports resort trailer
- Dusk Bloods deep dive trailer, With a future game specific direct, release December 2026.
- Nintendo Switch 2 edition Luigi Mansion 3 January 2027. With a teaser trailer for Luigi Mansion 4, release October 2027, Next Level Games
- Xenoblade Genesis trailer - Q2 2027
- Metriod Ravenous announcement - mercury steam - March 2027
- 2D Kirby - Q2 2027
