Nope. If it is the 10th, we probably won't get an announcement till next Monday at the earliest.

If it is the 10th but they announce it today or tomorrow, then it's a BIG one.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Expecting:

  • Pokemon
  • Xenoblade
  • Ocarina of Time
  • Just Dance
  • Zelda Movie Trailer
  • 3rd party reel
  • Some big 3rd party announcement
  • New announcement of a Kirby game (last mainline title came out in 2022, normally they release one mainline title every 3-4 years, so it's about time!)
  • Mario Kart World expansion DLC
  • Something about their amusement parks

Hoping:

  • Wii & WiiWare NSO
  • Sega Master System & Game Gear NSO
  • PC Engine/TurbographX NSO
  • Sega Saturn NSO
  • Dreamcast NSO
  • Neo Geo NSO
  • Sharp X68000 NSO
  • Some more games for the GameCube NSO (looking at you, Gladius!)
  • Come on Bowser, give us Mother 3!
  • New F-Zero
  • New Paper Mario

Nintendo's pretty consistent saving Paper Mario for every four years (if we're counting TTYD Remake in 2024). I'd say give it another year/year-and-a-half before we see anything. Crazy to think though that it's been six years since Origami King released! Biggest gap between mainline entries in franchise history. Really looking forward to seeing what IS is cooking up especially now that the original director has (mostly) retired from his role, and the heir (who oversaw the TTYD Remake IIRC) will be in-charge.

The dates speculated are the 8th and the 10th with one claim that a double ND will take place, a partner direct being one.

There will be 2 directs next week. The first is for Zelda OoT Remake and the second a general direct followed by the Treehouse presentation. Please reveal Metroid Ravenous and Luigi Mansions 4 already 🤤

Holy shit not one but two Directs, including a General!

Super excited to get a proper look at Ocarina of Time and to hopefully get a glimpse of some all new first party titles.

Also, RE4 Remake, Sniper Elite, and Doom the Dark Ages ports please and thank you.

Silent Hill 2 and MGS Delta are potentially coming to Switch 2.

This time I think I'll try to avoid leaks/spoilers; with last Direct I didn't have the patience as I was annoyed at the second half of the year still not being announced, but now that we have a pretty packed few months ahead I'm content to wait a bit and be surprised on the day.

Reminder to please spoiler-tag leaks if you're going to post them, for those that don't want the surprise spoiled.

The Zelda stuff getting its own direct is a good sign. If 3D Mario is next year it would be nice to reveal it here I think since that would cause a lot of excitement for the Switch 2's 2027
