Isn't it time for a new Smash Bros. too? It's been 8 years since Ultimate - 12 years if you think it's an expansion of the WiiU version.
Also 9 years since Mario Odyssey.

Hoping for at least one of the two. GTA 6 would be a dream.

For Zelda it would be great if OOT is something more that a plain remake. A movie trailer would be a dream.

If Sakurai isn't directing Smash, it's not unlikely for it to come out in 2027. If he is, it might still be possible but way trickier. Sakurai worked on Kirby Air Riders from April 2022 to November 2025.

Ultimate started pretty much right after the end of Smash 4's DLC in early 2016 and wrapped (minus DLC) in late 2018 when the game launched. It is possible for this game to not take longer to develop, and it could take shorter if it has a noticeably cut roster of characters and not a huge overhaul of the move sets.

I don't think Sakurai was working on the next Smash while working on Kirby, at least not for more than a few months at most.

If Sakurai is directing Smash again, I think 3D Mario will be out before Smash.
