Last year for a 100 hour game it took me roughly 6 months. I am not sure which platform I should choose, Ps5 or Xbox it will look best. Switch 2 has portability factor which should net me a few extra hours in comparison to the other platforms. I think I own the game on ps5 or Xbox. Maybe even on both. Typically I play on normal difficulty first, don’t know ilhow hard the difficulty really is. Not the biggest fan of extremely hard challenges due to time constraints. I typically do a lot of side content depending on fun. Maybe I will wait for the exact release date of final fantasy to decide if it fits into my timeslot then.

The second highest difficulty isn't hard though, you just need to offset it by using in game mechanics like utilising all your buffs like potions, oils, gear equipped and their runes and glyphs, use of signs and building and so on, an adrenaline build is my go to. It makes for a more involved game with it's mechanics propping it up. If you play on story, easy or normal all you need to do is tap attacks and dodge and then the mechanics I mentioned make the game trivial and you can mow through content way above your level.

There are times where I think “partly hyped” is the wrong answer, and this is one of those times. It’s a free upgrade to one of the best games of its genre. I can understand how some people may not connect with Witcher 3 at all, but this isn’t a Campaign Evolved situation where optimism should be of the cautious variety.
I feel the hype.

I have no experience with the Witcher series but perhaps I should give it a try with this to get ready for 4. There's so many other games I wanna play though.

How deep do you go? The Witcher 3 could be a 70 hour game on easy mainlining it. I got deep on the highest difficulty and do everything at about 180-200 hours before the DLC which adds on another 50 hours. If you mainline it with a dabble in sides and skip the DLC you could fit it into the space between the remaster drop and GTA6 but I'd say it's best to play this game on the second highest difficulty at least and do as much side content as it takes to keep you leveled to the difficulty. Could you fit 100-125 hours into 8 weeks? Cause that would be a really decent playthrough if you are looking at just mains, some sides and DLC the same. That's like 14 hours a week if I have my math right. |
Your times are wild, I got the plat and both DLCs 100% in 77hrs. Very easy to get this game below 100hrs.

In general I am of the opinion that there are way, way too many remasters/remakes nowadays and that it speaks to the laziness, greed, and creative bankruptcy of the Western AAA sector.
Given that this is free though, it's hard to look a gift horse in the mouth. I own the game on Switch 1, so will definitely upgrade it so I can play Songs of the Past on Switch 2 when it hits next year.
