Earthbound comes in mind.

Earthbound is a traditionally handheld franchise? There hasn’t even been a single installment released exclusively for the system outside of JP/Mother 3. (Also technically Nintendo doesn’t own Earthbound IIRC.)

Wario Land!

I would say Advance Wars, but considering the remakes flopped, doubt Nintendo will release a new game

Not sure if we’ll see Wario Land return (but man would I love to see it!), though I feel quite confident in saying Wario is on the verge of making a comeback.

And Advanced Wars is such a shame. :( I think what really killed the game was delaying it to two weeks prior to Zelda TotK. That was a game I was hotly anticipating but ended up not purchasing until it went on sale b/c I was too focused on TotK hype.

Hotel Dusk.

Word.

BoxBoy is a Nintendo franchise right? Those games are pretty fun. Last game was on the Switch in 2019 - all before that were 3DS games.

I think I heard a rumor actually of BoxBoy making a return… might be getting that mistaken for another handheld release, but I’m pretty sure ESRB leaked something for Switch 1/2.

True. My bad, I didn't pay attention to the restriction; my desire for more RPGs ultimately won out. My wish for more quality RPGs like Earthbound is just too big.

All good lol. Yeah Earthbound is easily on the top of my list of wanted revivals, though the person who owns the IP has already said he’s done unfortunately. But maybe someday.

Wario Land for sure, and there are leaks suggesting that might be happening.

I just want a new Kid Icarus and 2D Kirby lol. Please Nintendo, either make a new entry or give us remasters of their latest handheld entries.

I was never a handheld player but I'd be all over these two as well, Uprising looked like a blast and I did very much enjoy some of the 2D Kirby entries that made their way to consoles like Dreamland 3, Epic Yarn, Return to Dreamland, and Star Allies.

Trace Memory / Another Code. We got a remake on Switch, but a new game.
Golden Sun.
Hotel Dusk.
Pokemon Ranger.

I never played Another Code, but iirc, it was made by the same people who made "Dear Me, I Was..." for the NS2, it is a short sweet game that I can recommend if you haven't played it, although not at full price tbh.

Now for handheld franchises I would like to see again, I'm thinking of stuff like Nintendogs + Cats, Style Savvy, Brain Age and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Conquest.

Advance Wars but this IP has the worst luck.

Nintendogs.
The original was a huge success. Nintendogs+Cats didn't innovate enough and came out when 3DS launched and struggled. It never clawed its way to 5 million units.
Add a bigger world outside the house (without getting too big), good graphics for Switch 2, and so on. Make the experience deeper without getting too big.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 159 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million, then 161 million)

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I’d love a brand-new Kid Icarus game, but I’d honestly jump at a remake. Uprising looked fantastic on the 3DS, so seeing those graphics and gameplay updated for Switch 2 would be absolutely phenomenal.
