Earthbound is a traditionally handheld franchise? There hasn’t even been a single installment released exclusively for the system outside of JP/Mother 3. (Also technically Nintendo doesn’t own Earthbound IIRC.)

Not sure if we’ll see Wario Land return (but man would I love to see it!), though I feel quite confident in saying Wario is on the verge of making a comeback.
And Advanced Wars is such a shame. :( I think what really killed the game was delaying it to two weeks prior to Zelda TotK. That was a game I was hotly anticipating but ended up not purchasing until it went on sale b/c I was too focused on TotK hype.
