There probably wont be another one in the next 15 years lol. Nintendo only make games that print money; or, when they need a system seller that will draw back old adult Nintendo fans. Although this goes for most publishers, Nintendo is even more so.
This is crazy talk to me.
I'm not that far (just got the lava canon). But the art & presentation alone makes it better then a lot of trash we got during Wii/ds days and a lot more thoughtful than a lot of GameCube era filler.
Hell it's even better than Kirby Forgotten lands which is good but ultimately a bit basic in level design, platforming and combat.
The core gameplay loop in Metroid is still great and works well even if it hasn't evolved. The story has always been meh and it's just about the tone and world building which Prime 4 mostly retains outside of some annoying Miles moments
Its easily the best controlling and feeling Metroid, so I just can't take these arguments it's "bad" seriously. It's a 7/10 at least.

It's good. A flawed game but also a crazy high achiever in places like art direction. Personally it's my favourite Switch 2 game thus far (although I haven't really enjoyed many Switch 2 games lol).
I'm enjoying DK as well but the garish level design design and noisy/destructive gameplay has meant I'm not often compelled to go back to it whereas Metroids world is very enticing. Just the bike gameplay is awful lol

Eh they are already working on Prime 5 I believe. Prime games never been massive sellers. Prime 4 numbers are in line with other Prime games relatively.

It was recently Number one on Amazon US because of a discount. I think people underestimate slowburning sales, so we still have to wait for the dust to settle (it hasn't even been 1 year yet). Also its critical reception wasn't amazing, so if they have faith they can repair that + have a movie tie in, we could see a new Prime in a few years.

But the cost of making Prime 4 was magnitudes higher than any previous. Prime 4 sales were not good enough.
Why make Prime 5 when they could make pretty much any other IP Nintendo owns, for less money and sell more.

Not really. They just released Rhythm Heaven Groove. Not exactly a big seller. Nintendo actually releases smaller games other publishers would have abandoned long ago.
I loved most of MP4. I would place it far above Donkey Kong Bananza. Controls and visuals work really well. I loved the dungeons. They could have added 1 or 2 more. The Dessert looks awfull. But you get used to it. The fighting parts also work really well. NPC's and green crystals are a bit retarded.
I have to say that the normal Metroids might not be completely my thing. In MP Remastered. I got stuck a lot for a long time. Loved everything else, besides the fight with Riley. The second run was better than the first one.
In Metroid Dread. I got stuck way too much. And I hated most of the E.M.M.I. parts. I loved everything else. In MP4 I didn't get stuck ;) Finished it 3 times and I'm sure I will finish it more often.

The same could be said for many Nintendo IPs. It's not like Yoshi/Xenoblade/FE are historically huge sellers
But as far as Prime 4s cost, part of that will be due to the development struggle from first being outsourced to Bandai Namco & that can be avoided in future. Elsewhere they can scale back on cinematic/VO etc.
If Metroid Prime remastered didn't cost a huge amount and has fidelity not too far from 4, they can easily make Metroid Prime 5 in a reasonable budget and appeal to a different demo than their usual Nintendo IP. Nintendo has continually valued it's diversity otherwise things like Fire Emblem & Xenoblade would long ago been shelved with their sub 2m sales lol
