July is looking to be a fantastic month for Nintendo Switch 2! Rhythm Heaven and single-player Splatoon? Sounds like a fun time— top two most aniticipated Nintendo releases going into the year dropping only within a few weeks of each other (and for cheap!!).

Also, I must say, big props to Nintendo on this trailer. I’m so tired of all these CGI trailers intended to serve as nothing more than “hype” drivers. They simply compiled a couple minutes of gameplay, and left it at that. No expectations. Just a normal game showcase.

That said: I don’t know a ton about Splatoon gameplay, so it is admittedly a little hard for me to discern what’s so new about this game in comparison to something like Splatoon 3. I see that one axe weapon, and a lot of elements carrying over from Salmon Run. In any case, it looks like a blast as far ss I can see! Fun way to close the Summer. Can’t wait to see more and get my hands on the game.

You have to respect the price, this really is the way to go charging more for physical.

Seems like it is a 50/60 euro too, so yeah, at least for the cheaper games, like with Yoshi, physical went up.
Now we need to see if the bigger game follow the trend or not.

Hmm not sure on this one now ... movement, particularly up vertical surfaces, is a big part of the appeal of the game for me. I do not see that movement, it mostly seems horizontal. The price also has me worried that it may have no more depth than the single player campaigns from Splatoon 1 through 3. I will likely still get it but I think I will go the cheaper digital route.

$50 is neat though I wish we saw it across both physical and digital. I've long been an advocate that game prices should vary more, the fact that Breath of the Wild cost the same at launch as Mario sports games was a bit ridicolous.

Appearently, it's a bit more beefy than the price tag may lead you to believe— it contains 20GB of content. For a game with very few cutscenes, that seems very heavy (by Nintendo standards). I wonder what's up with that? Perhaps just really high res textures? Or maybe the game is just THAT big? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

For comparison that is double the file size of splatoon 3

Regarding the trailer, it being single player focused is a nice thing, if they make it right they could have an Splatoon 4 having both moves at the same time and it would be a great package.

This looks awesome! I love how chaotic the action is, with so much going on at once.

Very nice that it's priced lower too.

Switch 2's 2026 keeps getting better.
