The gameplay looked very interesting.

I'm just worried about the lack of visual variety (seemed really uninspired). Also, is it just me or the graphics look on par with Splatoon 3 on Switch 1, just obv high res'd?

Not being a full price release, I suspect they probably deliberately stuck with their existing graphics tech to keep the budget under control, and seemingly just bumped up the resolution and the amount of stuff happening on screen tot ake advantage of the extra horsepower.

maybe high fps as well?

Yeah, not sold yet. I thought for being single player, they would explore the squids abilities to do other stuff than just shooting and bombing enemies...

Maybe mix with some new gameplay mechanics and elements: like survival crafting, resources management, puzzle solving and world exploration.

Its looks so far a bit plain for my taste. Hoping to be proven wrong later on, specially for the world map. I wanna see more diversity with the islands' thematics

Yeah the Splatoon series has always been 60fps; in this case they seem to have amped up the amount of chaos on screen at once, so maybe the graphics were kept purposefully simple to ensure it never drops below 60.

Yeah, you're probably right.

Still, that's such an unambitious move that it almost seem like something they would pull off during the Wii U era.

That said, I still have hopes for the game. It just needs a better showing to get me aboard the train.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

That's fair; I feel like I need to see more of the game and what it offers before I'll write it off as unambitious; it is a spinoff, but it doesn't seem to me like a low quality product.

I can see if filling a similar mid-tier profile to something like the Switch Hyrule Warriors or Fire Emblem Warriors games, or Echoes of Wisdom.

For those concerned about environmental variety, this clip on Twitter/X shows a volcanic level:

Well, crafting is inkluded in the trailer, and the equipment also looks much less sleek than in the mainline Splatoon games, as if the titular mechanic jury-rigged them all together. And I have an inkling that ressource management and world exploration are also part of the game.

Some light puzzle mechanics always had their place in single-player modes of Splatoon, but they were pretty shallow. Maybe this gets expanded for this game.

While it's single-player focused, the game apparently does include co-op multiplayer for up to 4 players:

Splatoon Raiders had me interested since it was announced but I really want to see what they have content wise because cutting the main side of Splatoon for pure singleplayer is a big decision especially since 2 & 3 each had around 6 hour campaigns included in them which were quite good so hopefully Raiders is a good as it looks in the trailers and also has a good amount of content to it.

Raiders is basically the same price physical and digital in the UK which is quite a change to previous Switch 2 games and the entire previous generation where digital is usually £10-15 more expensive and it at least makes digital seem "reasonable" now, Still I'm not sure if I go full digital with Switch 2 yet or hold on to physical a little longer but the GKC's feel kinda bad and may just push me full digital.
